Hello All! New member, first post. I thought I'd share my story.
I used to smoke cigarettes for over 10 years. I was a pack a day smoker for the majority of that time. I watched an Oprah show (not a common practice) where she had Dr Oz on and they took 10 people from the audience and did lung scans. Its been a few years, but if I remember right, 8 of the 10 had problems related to smoking. One of the 8 had to come back for further testing because he (or she?) had the "black cloud of death" in his scan. I'm not sure why because we've all seen the commercials and seen the pictures of the smokers lung vs. the non smokers lung, but that show scared the crap out of me. So at the end of the show, I decided that on my birthday, I would quit smoking.
When my birthday came, I started my journey into a smoke free lifestyle. I used the nicotine mints (leaving out the name on purpose) to help me quit. The problem was, I became addicted to the mints and those things are not cheap... at all. Eventually, I found that I could trick my self using some of the strong mints that come in tins. They had the strength to satisfy.
All was good for four years, not one cigarette. Then, with the help of a few different associates, friends and events, began getting interested in cigars. For a couple months, I usually purchased the expensive cigars and didn't inhale. Eventually, I started buying 5 pack cigarillo cigars and inhaling them regularly. This has been going for nearly a year now and as luck would have it, my birthday is just around the corner. So, nows the time.
I tried to quit as my new years resolution, but that was a failure. Fortunately, a buddy of mine that was quiting with me, didn't fail. He purchased a few blu ecig disposables. I used it a few times and realized that an ecig could be my answer. Problem was @ $10 a pop, a disposable wasn't really economically viable for me. So began my search for a cheap, but good ecig. (I know.. cheap, but good... there's no such thing. hopefully that's wrong in my case)
I should also point out something else. I used to be an ecig mocker. I laughed at my younger sister when she whipped hers out at Christmas. Little did I know, she was the one that should have been laughing when I whipped out my analog cigar.
So after that long intro, I purchased a Halo g6 starter kit with blank cartos and the ejuice sample pack. I did a lot of research trying to figure out what to buy. I quickly realized there is a mind bending amount of different brands, juices, info, etc... A little overwhelming. Even with a week of heavy research, I am still realizing I only scratched the surface of the ecig world.
So that's my story. I have a ton of questions, but honestly I don't know what to ask yet. I'm starting to look into the more advanced systems. Just out of curiosity, is the G6 customizing friendly or am I stuck with Halo's offerings only. I do realize I can use other eliquids.
Thanks for reading. Look forward to learning from you all and I'll post my experiences if I think they might help someone else.
