I'm looking for a little bit of local support from some Chicago Vapers... any one out there from the Windy City or the surrounding Suburbs? I am mostly looking for local shops where I can maybe buy supplies or places where vaping is accepted so I don't have to explain just what the hell it is that I'm doing. Anyone ever try to vape on a train or bus? How well does THAT go over? LOL! Thanks all... and keep on' vapin!

Hey, yes I just got my first kit from these guys:

Okay, can't post a link yet, but go to google maps, put in your address, Search Nearby for "esmokeys"

Didn't catch where they're located exactly, but they deliver! Sounds strange, but from what I gathered they're just kicking things off and they're getting stuff to customers however they can, for now its by car.

Great service; the guy was very nice and knowledgeable, and the prices seem comparable to anything else out there.

V4L is also very near Chicago(North suburbs, I think). I do not know if they allow walkin business though. They have their own forum here, you should pop in there and ask....

BTW, I used to work in Woodstock for several years..........Crystal Lake is a nice area. Getting a little too crowed though. Driving through town on route 14 was insane some days.........

Byron, Mike was great! I must say though if any two people could make vaping look shady, we sure did: Made the transaction in a parking lot between cars, haha.

I agree about public places, maybe its more accepted than we're thinking. I haven't got any funny looks in the common smokers area at work, and a few folks have commented "oh, an e-cigarette".

I'm still a little paranoid about the police though. As you probably know we have some very...zealous officers in the suburbs. Nothing against them, its just that these things do look awfully similar to devices used for illicit substances.

Mike came to my house so that was nice, maybe not the smartest thing in the world to do but hey... if a serial killer e-cig dealer doesn't kill me, something else will. Anyway yeah I have gotten a few comments at work like, oh you can't smoke that inside because it's not nicotine in it! Well, I don't wanna go smoke outside with the real smokers because I wanna avoid second hand smoke so I just go in the bathroom at break time and vape away. I did a few stealth vapes on the Metra the other day and the conductor walked by and I coughed and let out a plume of vapor and he didn't seem to notice, thank god! Anyway, what flavors did you try? He seems to have a very limited number of juices. I just got a bottle of Menthol and now I'm really wishing I had gotten something else to try. Oh well, let me know how your continued use of emokey goes. I'd like to stick with him if I can afford it, I feel kinda guilty shopping around for cheaper stuff as he's been nuthin' but a saint to me.

From what I can tell all the juices he sells are Dekang. From reading around here a lot of people say they're chemical-y tasting. My palette isn't that diverse yet, but first thing I did was order some flavors from vsvapor. They blow the Dekang out of the water. I didn't think the Dekang was THAT bad (I got the menthol as well), just your run of the mill basic juice. Definitely recommend VS, shipping is damn fast and the products are delicious

I'll keep as much business as I can with esmokeys; in fact I think I might pick up an eGo from him tomorrow!

I'm sure on Metra it just depends on the conductor, or if you've got some real ...... in the car; but that would never happen on metra :p

What's more offensive, a plume of vapor that dissolves within 3 seconds, or that guy who shares his whole cell conversation with the entire car....

I'm bummed out, my guy who delivers to my house says he can't come until Sunday :-( I'd totally get on the train if I could just buy something good over the counter. Oh well, I am sure once I get a little collection built up I won't be going nuts like I am now. Like I said earlier, I am really tired of Menthol. I have a nice collection of local dealers but it's too late right now to expect anyone to deliver tonight and places like cignot probably use UPS for all their business anyway.

Im from Chicago, and I vape occasionally at the clubs I go to (Spybar, Vision, etc).
I remember in the beginning the the bouncer ran up to me and said "Emily! I caught you smoking!" and i said.. "no, you didnt" I pressed the button and the led lit up and I "burnt" him on the shirt. He was amazed..parading me around to show everyone that worked at the club, it was entertaining.

Most people are intriqued by the ecig. Some of my non smoker friends even try it at the club cuz they think its like hookah and tastes good (I mix my own juices) Sometimes a friend will even run off with it and i have to track them down and be like HEY im the one with the addiction, remember?
Oddly enough ive found (in my experience)that more analog smokers are against the ecig than non smokers. One of my friends constantly bothered me about smoking an actual cigarette for hours, even though I didnt want to, i did to shut him up!

I would have told him to shove it! But I'm just that kinda guy.

So are the Chicago peeps planning on joining the Windy City Social Group? May be a way to organize meet ups and co op orders.
