Any fellow disc golfers?

I only ever used one disc. My long distance disk worked for everything. Very stable. Some things I do left handed because I am blind in my right eye. Tossing a disc is one of them so I have a big advantage. But I can also throw right handed when I need over stable. And it putts like a CHAMP. I never miss a put within thirty feet. I throw it rather hard ( I throw with the intention that it should go about twice the distance to basket) so it flies straight and aim for dead center mass on the chains. New people I play with on the course always give me the dog-head-tilt when they find out I play with only one disc.
A Phoenix iirc

I used to win em all at Orangevale. 12 under on average for 18. But that course LOVES lefties. I have a harder time at Auburn and Grass Valley where I'm lucky to shoot better than -5
But I only ever played them a couple times a year. Orangevale I know front to back as I used to play almost every day and sometimes a couple times a day.

Disc golf has been my go to activity and saving.grace. I went deep into an alcoholic depression for almost 2 years after playing for 4 years I just stopped. I'm back at it and shaking the rust off. Here (Oregon) we have a negative view on disc golfers because most smoke "stuff". But its all about fun and bettering yourself. Disc golf subculture and e cig subculture seem very similar. Misinterpreted but awesome

whats everybody using for midrange? I like my factory second Roc dx with the kc pro stamp or my g* roc3

My 1991 Comet has the perfect feel to it. Perfectly broken in. Everything about it is perfect, except for its owner, well at least based on his game.

Actually though, my driving game leaves a lot to be desired, but my up game, is decent to very good. Known as an 'up master' locally.

People look at me like I'm crazy because I I play with one disc. I have putters and drivers, but I played for so many years with just the one after class in college. I could have it with me when I walked to campus and back home.

As a kid I used to play frisbee and aerobie. I would put a kitchen chair in the yard and try to land the frisbee on it from across the yard out of boredom.

Yesterday, while playing in my favorite course, two things happened. Shot a great game. Sure, I was playing best disc, but is good practice, IMO, for leagues or games that count. Anyway, I had a great drive with my 2nd disc on hole 17 of the course. The first drive hit a tree half way down and went right. I saw where it was from the tee, or so I thought. When I went to look for it, I couldn't find it. Almost felt like just letting it go and not looking which is very unusual for me. Then I spotted it, walked up and saw on the ground by it a hollowed out log with a whole lot of flies buzzing around. Looked exactly like flies. So, I reached down to grab my disc and moment I touched my disc, I realize, these aren't flies. I was then feeling like I was getting stung multiple times. Took me about 10 seconds and about 50 steps of running to feel like I escaped. But I was stung 2 times for sure.

Then I was in lots of pain. I've been stung by bees before and this was much more pain than that. Took some Benadryl, a little Tylenol and applied ice to both stings. Determined it was probably ground hornets that stung me as they looked nothing like bees. Was in pain most of the evening and upon google search was under impression I'd be in pain for 3 to 5 days. But today woke up and while there is some residual pain, it is night and day better than it was yesterday.

Part of me thinks the nicotine in my system helped in the quick healing. I'll admit I don't know, and will also admit that I at first thought it made things worse. But hard to understand how I took to healing so fast, though not complaining that I did.

Remind me that if there's a whole bunch of flying insects swarming around my disc to not reach for my disc as if it's no big deal.

I throw a mix of everything Innova, Disccraft, Legacy, MVP, but I am really liking Westside discs. Their discs are manufacturer by legacy, so you have an idea of what their plastic is like. The company is Finnish and that have a different throwing style that is more arm strength and glide vs spin and snap and it is very close to how I throw. The discs have a ton of glide on them!
Actually westside discs are manufactured by latitude 64. My bag is currently all lat64 and westside discs. Love the glide on their discs and awesome plastic. And my Reo rides in the side pocket my bag every round.

You are right, that was my mistake. To many new companies these days!

I am in the process of switching mine over (currently at 50%). It seems like every disc I throw from Westside I love! Most of what Lat64 as well.

The only thing that I may not change is my putter. I have search for the perfect putter for me for years and finally found 2 (one for approaching and one for putting) that work (90% when 35 or under).

Which putter? I use an r-wood aviar. Yetti top and aviar bottom. I love that thing nice and stable. Can throw it over 225' for drives :)

I use a Soft Anode for long putts (45 feet +) / approaching and a Zeppelin (Disc Craft Ace Race Disc from 2011) for straight up putting (anything under 45 feet). This combo works the best for me and has really improved my putting game.

I am planning on picking up a Swan2 and a Harp to try them out. A friend in my league has starting using the Swan2 and has had nothing but good things to say about it.

I have a bunch of funny money (hoping you all understand that concept) and wanting to get discs like Sidewinder (Champion) and maybe Beast (Star). But am up for considering other suggestions outside of the Innova family, if you all have any. I mainly drive forehand and after that will throw either forehand or backhand. Fairly set on short range discs right now. Oh, and not real big on the fast speed discs, so anything 12 or lower generally works for me.
