I have one FireFly batt bought on a whim(and suggestion of Wife)...it does have a nice light up ring around the base that lights up but I have never been able to get the flashlite feature to work...never have contacted vendor to ask about it since the batt works OK otherwise...doesn't seem to last as long as my Riva batts which are 100mah larger...

I recently bought the 650mah Firefly 510-T starter kit from Liberty Flights. I'm pretty happy with it, so far. It was only $40 after discount.

I think it's probably a bit longer than a standard 650mah, but I'm not sure. I do rather like the charge level indication provided by the changing-color LED. The pen light function has proven to be handy a few times for me, already. I wouldn't normally carry one of those around...

When you rapidly click the button 4 times, it toggles it between pen light and e-cig function. It seems that there is no true 'off', though, so I wonder if it'll go dead from the pen light being on if it accidentally remains pressed in a pocket, or if it has a time limit. I haven't tested it. Battery life seems to be right on par for a 650mah, for me.

The 510-T part of the kit is my first experience with tank-style cartridges. The atomizers work nicely for dripping or with the tanks. The tanks are different than what I've seen on youtube for 510-T videos. Those had a hard plastic, hinged cap that had to be pierced, while these have a removable d-shaped silicone plug with an easily pierced center. They look like 901 carts, so I'm not sure if they are 901-T, a new revision of 510-T, or some other aftermarket offering.

The carts seem to work well, but you have to be careful not to push the plug up into the cart when installing it onto the atty. I found that twisting it while slowly inserting it worked well. Filling is as easy as using a syringe through the center hole, or popping the plug off and dripping in.

The one thing that I do NOT like about these, is the plastic smell/taste of the carts. While it's not horrible, it is noticeable. I found that washing them with dish soap before use helps with that. I've been using a few clearos for the last couple of months, and like them better, so I'm not too concerned with the 510-T carts/attys. I'll likely keep them as backups.

After a month of ownership, I can tell you that the firefly is an ego with a flashlight and charge indicator. For me, these features are worth it; i hate not knowing when my battery is going to die, and I can't tell you how many times i've been glad for the flashlight (it's nothing special, but it gets you across a dark room and finds the carto you dropped in your car at night).

It's worth noting that there is a 12 second cutoff for the atomizer, but not for the flashlight. Not that I take drags over 12 seconds without pulsing, but it's worth noting. I kind of wish there was a true off feature, but it's a hard button to press accidentally compared to the touchy riva buttons; it's recessed between the cone and body like the eGo.

The atomizers that come with them are also decent for dripping. 2.0-2.2 ohm and i haven't run across any issues with leaking, but they do draw a little tight. If i continue with the eGo style these will be my go-to batteries.

I too have the Firefly and absolutely love it. Like LucentShadow, I got mine from Liberty Flights and used their 20% discount to make the kit affordable.

The flashlight is a single bulb LED that has a white light with very little draw on the battery. You could literally use it for hundreds of hours and not worry about it draining the battery. Granted, it's not a bright enough light to use for long walks in the dark. But it's great for looking for something in close quarters, or going short distances in the dark. And it's perfect for looking at atomizers, inside of cartomizers, etc.. It's surprising how often you'll find yourself using the LED flashlight feature.

Another great feature of the Firefly is the LED color changing ring around the tip. When the battery is fully charged you'll get a blue circular LED ring every time you vape. When the battery is at 75% of capacity you'll get a green ring as you vape. 50% capacity results in a yellow ring. And below 25% charge shows a red ring.

Knowing the battery level at all times is a good feature as it's possible to greatly extend the life, and overall usable hours, of all lithium batteries by not fully discharging them each time they are used. I try to recharge my firefly when it eventually gets to the yellow state of discharge (before it gets to the red LED stage). To learn more about extending the life of your lithium batteries see the following article -----> How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University the best info in the article begins with Table 2 which is after the first line graph

Another great reason to know the battery level remaining is that you'll never leave the house wondering how much charge your battery has. The convenience of such a feature is worth the price in my opinion.
