I'm a fan of music... both making and listening. I tinker with tubes, but only for instrument amplification. My music listening over the years has been from 70s heavy transformer receivers and either a pair of Ohm Walsh2 or a pair of Koss M80 with an MK Goliath II passive sub.

Recording and media source has all been computer based for almost 15 years. I used Cakewalk / Sonar until I discovered Reaper 5 or 6 years back.... I ripped my entire CD collection to high bit rate MP3.

I am a 45 year old who has played rock music since 1980 (Bass mostly, but some guitar), I hear fine, but know for a fact I'm missing a bit of my highs and lows due to age and abuse ;)

I love good audio Gear, I run Klipsch Forte 2's in my living room. I know there are people that bash Klipsch as overly bright, but as you hear on the forums quite often, taste is subjective and I love my Klipsch. I do not however like the newer style Klipsch. I am an old school guy. I don't want 8 inch woofers. I really love the sound of the Heritage series. That's not to say there aren't newer Speakers that I like. I really liked a company out of Colorado called AV123 they had a set called x-statics that were transcendant. It was almost a religious experience. The CEO ended up pulling a fraud to try and keep the company solvent and killed them. It was unfortunate. The best I have personaly heard were some B&W nautilus in Dallas. Beautiful looking albeit a little strange to see giant seashells in an audio setup.
