So for days now i've read about today, and how something would be discovered. Everyone said to wait for today, and so i was patient and didnt ask much.
Now the day has arrived and its 4:30pm on the east coast. I don't see anything on here that is imformative of the events of today.

Has nothing happened yet? Why has no news broke on here yet about todays meetings?

I think noone wants to jinx it or be the first to say something then... BAM. Im thinkin i will place my order tonight though. Either somehow we got through to someone or it was a clever yet cruel marketing tool.

If today passes by without incident, as it seems may the case, we should all be proud for signing the petitions, sending the e-mails and letters to our congressman, and Achieving a small but very significant victory. My i suggest we use this momentum to sway the amendments for the Waxman bill?

Now that i think about it. If this was a greedy marketing tool used by some scumbag, it did have a very positive side effect. We Vapors have launched a very aggressive pre-emptive offensive attack.
Im grinning from ear to ear right now. Had analog smokers been this organized in advance, alot of the smoking bans may not have been passed around the country. Furthermore, we are on the right side of the issue this time. Im impressed at the conduct of PV users in educating those around them, not forcing ourselves onto society yet politely etching out our place.

Today.... Today i think news was made. Not a ban but just the opposite.

Maybe one day people will stop listening to the doomsayers and realize that it's people trying to make money. I have been on this forum for a few months and noticed that every few weeks a new "threat" comes along to ecigs and guess what? NO BAN! WOW!
This forum is VERY supplier heavy, its almost like a commercial but sneakier. There is a wealth of info but I would bet its more then likely some supplier gets heavy on stock and some how puts up a thread to get the people panicked. Its a cycle. I have commented on this before but nobody cares. They want to feel part of something, and like they are safer and smarter for stocking up but in actuality its very sad. Sad indeed.

I can't find that post where it talked about the ban being announced today, May 5th. Can someone point me to it?
I may not be remembering it right. Didn't it say that among the ways of announcing the ban, it would be posted on youtube? Has anyone ever seen a Government agency use youtube for press releases? Then again, I may have just dreamt this, or got it mixed up with a different post.

I've been on this forum since March and just in that short amount of time the number of suppliers have increased DRAMATICALLY!!! I can't believe it. There were maybe 10-12. Now look at it. You just scroll and scroll down the list. It shows just how popular the ecig has become and also how much money is to be made with it. I would hope the suppliers aren't the ones sounding a false alarm, but you never know do you.

Maybe true for another scare, but it was Bill Godshall -- an advocate, not a supplier -- who posted the leaked e-mail that started this particular panic. There was no FDA announcement today, so good, we get to vape on for now. But I'm not getting my hopes up that there wasn't at least a kernel of truth to it. I think the author probably spoke out of turn, maybe gave some wrong info as well, but I sure don't think it was completely fabricated. I also don't think it was a full-on hoax sent to Godshall by a supplier. Of course it *could* have been, but I really doubt that it was.

I was under the impression that it wasn't going to be a ban annoucement today, but that a bill was in congress today that was some tobacco act.

This bill gave the FDA control over tobacco and other nicotine products, and in this bill the FDA was able to re assess all products out there. During the reassessment there would be a freeze on these products until they either got approved or denied.

I havent read much but this is what i thought was going on today.
