there is a NYC subforum, and i know several shops are listed for the metro area.
Being literally across the river in New Jersey, I so long for a true brick and mortar shop in Manhattan. Extensive searching has only yielded smoke shops that either just stock disposables and overpriced cartridge based kits, or that charge $20.00 for 5ml of juice (and in desperation, I almost bit on this offer!).
It's a bit of a ride there, but Vape New York in Queens is an excellent merchant, and a regular go to place of mine now. The folks there are quite friendly and knowledgeable, and there is always a steady flow of folks showing up so a great place to meet fellow vapers. Very well stocked with accessories and eliquids for which they have a juice bar setup so you can try out, and a strong selection of PV's from the basics all the way up to upper tier. Also - worth going for Juicy Fruit eliquid alone. Plus, there is a very affordable pizza place in the same market with outstanding pizza!! Other interesting shops there as well if you're interested in Flea Markets.
I'll also add that from Manhattan it's actually pretty easy to get to the place. 40 minutes or so on the E train to Queens and then literally a seven minute walk from there. Definitely worth a look if you have the time.
