i have had a polish cloth for about a month now. I use it all the time because all i have is copper mods. its getting really dirty and messy. Is there any way to wash off the crappy residue from the rag rather than buying a new one?
I suppose it would depend on the particular cloth. I've used Cape Cod cloths for years and those can be somewhat refreshed by adding a little mineral oil and working it into the cloth. Will still look pretty dirty, but will continue to work (though not quite as good as a new one)
Is it a dry cloth? Just looked them up and the only one I saw on the site was something that looked like the microfiber cloths that came with my glasses. If that's all it is, then it can be washed and air-dried.
I just buy 4packs of microfiber cloths from Harbor Freight Tools. Like 2bucks a pack. You could try washing them in the washer with bleach and baking soda or oxyclean. Baking soda and such should be able to break down the wax/oil in the polish.
