So, I left my pcc plugged into the computer to charge over night like I always do. Except today was a little different. My son(2yrs old) must have gotten up before I did, and when I woke up he was standing there holding my pcc. (By the way, I never leave any batts or carts lying around) I didn't think much of it until went to the computer and to my horror there was the usb connector still in the port! So my question is this; is there any way to reconnect the wire to the usb end?

If the wires are long and have little to no insulation, the black insulation, probably not, they are probably pulled out inside the plug.
If it's a short wire on each end there might be a chance of striping them and soldering in a new piece, or resoldering them together even.
I'm not that familier with USB consruction/asembly so I don't know if it can be disassembled without total destruction.

But, for around $5? I think WalMart sells USB cables, might be able to just wire a new end on it?

If you know how t use a soldering iron, you could actually mount a 2 conductor jack on the remaining cable, and get a cheap USB cable with the other gender jack on it.

To get power from a USB jack the connector only uses the outer two wires, standard color coding is red for +5 and black for ground.

USB pinout and wiring @ pinouts.ru

The other option would be to replace the existing wire, don't have a pcc so an not sure if that is a viable option.

Thank you for that information!

Pretty short wire to begin with, may be toast..... just depends on how adventurous you want to get with it and if you have any wire to work with, or it pulled out of the battery pack.

I should've been more specific, the wire was pulled out of the pcc and is still attached to the usb connector. I thought I should seek advice before I did anything that might make it worse, or ruin my chances of a possible repair.

If you PROMISE to ALWAYS take the PT off the computer, I will warrantee this one for you as well:p

Seriously, we need to be real careful with our electonic items, especially for our Kids, and Pets;)

Just request a replacement on next order. Toss this one, or collect the parts:lol:

Steve, wow I don't know what to say besides THANK YOU SO MUCH! I feel guilty though, because it was my carelessness that caused my pcc to get damaged.Plus, I feel you guys shouldn't have to replace something because of the stupidity of a customer. But, I recently converted my better half, and we have depended greatly on the pcc and a wall charger to keep us going. We thank you with all of our hearts. The only way I can think to repay your generosity is to keep passing out cards and keep converting people to V4L.:D

2-5 year olds are amazing at getting into things. They get past safety locks and everything.I kept things up high and out of sight and reach at that age.My daughter took a tube of blue toothpaste and covered her entire body. She looked like a little smurf sitting on the floor.Thank god she didnt eat it.Its not good for little ones.
