The last official New Year’s resolution that I made was to stop making New Year’s resolutions. I’ve sort of kept it.

But I still think of the beginning of the year as a time to reflect, re-center and refocus. This year, I want to make sure that I stay connected with friends, because it’s too easy to let friendships slide. I want to pay attention to the moment, and not whine about the stuff I can’t change. And mostly I want to hold on to every day with gratitude for the wonder and possibility that comes with a New Year.

CES, I couldn't have said it better. The last resolution I made was to quit smoking :)) haha I can cross that one off my list)

But this year I'm focusing on personal happiness and staying in the moment. I let my mind wander too much at times and miss the mircales right in front of me. I also take too much for granted, It's sad, I have a wonderful life and I often forget how fortunate I really am. Life is too short, It's time to live and enjoy what I have. :)

My major resolution is to lose weight!!! I have already threatened the DH about making cakes and pies and stuff!! I am going to start on Jan 9th so I gave him plenty of warning

Otherwise I need to spend more time with my family and friends. Enjoy the little things in life, they may be there everyday but I need to pay attention to them.

Talk my DH into letting me get a dog....hehehehehe

My major resolution is to lose weight!!!

That is also in my control the controllable concept. I can't workout anymore :( Cause of my back. I use to be a gym rat. So I actually need to cut back on the cupcakes. I am planning on getting my health kick on January 3. I have a trip to Hawaii and Costa Rica this year I need to get ready for

Me too Fudgey. A few weeks before Christmas I started getting on the scales every morning (didn't make it this morning) just to remind myself throughout the day to BACK OFF THE FOOD!! So far its been helping some.

My pants tell me all I need to know  But when I was weighing every day it helped.

I quit making New Year's resolutions a long time ago; yet, I also look forward to new things with a New Year, and the end of the old. After trying so many times to quit smoking over so many years upon receiving an e-cig kit for Xmas last year, I did not even think about making New Year's Resolution to quit smoking. I smoked my last cigarette about 5:30 on 1/1. The times that it got to where I thought I either have to quit smoking or quit eating, I could always quit eating and keep right on puffing. After all those years of having to watch my weight I was down to 96 lbs last year while eating everything in site; obviously I wasn't trying to loose. I guess what I am trying to say, if you feel good, don't worry too much about the weight. I think CES summed it up the best along with live each day like it is a gift that you may not receive tomorrow.

Yes, you can fudgey.

I don't know how many mes I have gained and lost while I kept on smoking.

Here as in everything else, we are all different in what works. The best I ever felt was when I walked and lifted weights. I didn't diet with it, but I still lost lbs. To bad I didn't stick with that regime. A good support system works with weight loss, just like smoking, chronic illness, etc.

Maybe we need a How much did you exercise today thread or Let's Get Fit..

I really like all of these reflections and thoughts on how to refocus.

I especially like the idea of a let's get fit thread. I need some accountability. I used the fact that i exercised regularly as an excuse to keep smoking...now that i don't smoke, i also don't exercise (i seem to spend that time here  )

(two more days until your first year Toto- that's wonderful!)
