I'm wondering, I'm a singer (not professional...*keep hoping though*, lol) and a lot of people give me a hard time for smoking while also being a singer. But I've never seemed to have a problem at all while smoking. Now, only after being cigarette free for only 2 days and vaping like crazy and I can't seem to hit any high notes, lol. My voice cracks out on me.

If anyone else sings, whether for recreational or professional purposes, have you experienced this? I thought quitting cigarettes would help me, not hurt me. I'll stick with the vaping of course, just wondering if anyone knows anything about this (never had the smokers cough, hacking up and so forth) and if it gets better with time.

Ive read a few threads on here about singing, with everyone reporting nothing but improvements.
I'm wondering if you might need to drink more fluids since vaping does tend to dehyrdate you.

I'll go look for some of those threads and if I can find any of them I'll come back and post the links...

Thanks DC2, some links would be helpful. Someone else also told me to drink more water, but it was concerning headaches (most likely from dehydration) I'm surprised though, I drink water almost exclusively, and a lot of it. I'm gonna be running to the bathroom like crazy. I also purchased some really low nic juice, wanna see if that might help a bit.

I read somewhere in here that PG coats your throat?? I can't find the post though. Maybe try VG or PG/VG blend? I know that if I vape a lot continuously (which has been pretty much since I got my kit, I'm like a little kid with a new toy!) my throat feels kinda funky. I just got my VG cartos to see if that makes a difference.

I remember reading that a long time ago too. I just forgot.
But i don't think I ever had that problem.

As far as not coughing up stuff!! Oh my gosh I went through a whole box of kleenex coughing up crap. Probably a roll of paper towels too, on the really bad days.

That's nasty Suddenlyno, ahaha. I'm not sure if i'll start hacking stuff. I've never had smokers cough or anything of the sort, but who knows, I might be in for a surprise.

Woodchucker, I play the guitar too, but so far vaping hasn't interfered with that, lol. I'm kidding of course. I just read the link DC2 posted and it has reassured me that my days as a singer are not numbered ;)

Rios I sing and play acoustic guitar - write my own music - initially I experienced the same problems you described but as people have already suggested more fluids helped and gradually my body is adjusting to vaping (been at it for six months now and love it)
My voice will still crack occasionally if I don't stay hydrated but I've noticed-and my recording engineer has also mentioned-that my voice overall is improving in strength and range.
