I was consuming 7 ml per day vaping freely on the shop floor at work and then some management declared no more vaping. The way things are working in practice is we're getting away with vaping if we are VERY discrete. But an effect of that was my daily ml's declined from 7 to 4, a significant drop. I don't like the new restrictions but I do like the lower ml's. The lower amounts seems to be happening on days off too. My ideal vape would be 3.5 ml's per day instead of 7. The only reason for me to reduce daily nic is so my stash lasts longer but I think less ml's is better than more. There is some lung irritation, however slight.

Increasing Nic OR switching to an RDA can definitely help because your hits are more satisfying. BUT if you're a chain vaper like me, chances are you grab your mod and take a hit the minute your eyes open in the morning. I've found that the sooner you Vape in the morning, the more often you want it throughout the day. Try leaving it in the living room or something when you go to bed and then wait until you're dressed. See if that helps, then try waiting til after breakfast etc. waiting until I eat breakfast has helped me a LOT

Best of luck, and Vape on!!!

I wouldn't/didn't/don't worry about chain-vaping Nic. I would increase the Nic to 18 and sit the mod down just out of sight. Might be weird at first, but your body will tell you when you need Nic. But, it is obvious that your Nic is under-strength.

Just let your body tell you when.
On my Nautilus 2 with the 1.8 ohm coil I vape it with 18mg nicotine at 14 watts. If I was vaping a 12 I would also be chain vaping something like that mtl.

when i switched from cigs to mtl vaping i thought i would be using it the same way as a cig.... 20-25 puffs then set it down.....repeat after an hour or so...and so on.

But this thing is glued to my hand now....i use it for long stretches.....on 12 mg and 70 vg....no adverse reactions....but im wondering if i need to break this chain valing pattern and what might be the best way to go about it.

Hi.. I chain vaped when I first started vaping... but eased off in time, the easing off the chain vaping for me simply happened naturally after my body adjusted to not having a cigarette.. within a year of vaping, I was walking out of the house without it for hours, and not once missing it, I would go a couple hours between vaping sessions etc. and simply didn't need to vape the way I had previously needed to smoke.

But to get there, chain vaping, imho, is tied to withdrawals from cigarettes, and so long as your needing to chain vape, then do so without worry, because that phase goes away before you know it!

Lotta good advice so far here.... what you really need to ask yourself is are you Vaping due to not being satisfied due to a nic craving? If that's the case maybe a higher nic.. It might be the fact that you are using a higher Vg juice and not getting a Throat hit satisfaction which we all got from smoking.. If that's the case a 50/50 Vg/pg ratio might help and you can stay at your nic level. Buying a bigger sub ohm device might not be the answer if it is a TH or nic problem.. your just going to cut your nic in half anyways to sub ohm. if not you will get sick or choke on it.(actually that might work to stop chain Vaping) that's just not enjoyable..
Sub ohm might be your thing (6mg nic).. chances are if you do like to sub ohm you will just chain vape that...

This might sound crazy but maybe you just like to vape....enjoy it.. whatever device you use.

I chain vape because I was a chain smoker and I enjoy my 3MG liquids so I have NO Intention of not chain vaping. The only problem for me with chain vaping is I need to charge my batteries more often. At 3MG those times I am in an environment I can't vape I just don't. My average is 30 MLs per day but today because of working outside I am only maybe 6 to 8 so far. Not like I need to get more nicotine in me. This works for me........

I've not personally cut back on the vape one bit since starting almost 5 years ago.
Me neither.
I didn't have any plans for quitting smoking when I started vaping. It just kind of happened.
The science coming in looks good, and my body confirms it with improved breathing, lower blood pressure, and almost no infections since 2012.
We're all going to die eventually. Smoking probably would have killed me by age 60. Vaping may add 15 or 20 years.
Who knows...
I may have the opportunity to die of something else.

When I am home I chain vape at 3mg when I leave the house I don't even take a mod and don't miss it. I could never do that when I smoked. Everyone is different. I don't worry about it as I feel much better than when I smoked. Sometimes I get dry throat from chain vaping but then I remember to drink lots of water and give it a rest. I also change flavors a lot. At home I have several tanks ready with different flavors.

It's really hard to not chain vape sometimes. But like everyone else said distancing yourself from your mod. I keep my juice in a cabinet in the kitchen so I have to get up and go to the other room to refill, sometimes that stalls me. Also if I'm just going out to stores or have an appointment.. I usually leave it behind and things like a mint or cough drop can be helpful. It helps too to distract yourself with something like a task or a good movie or book, something you enjoy that way you know you're not just doing it because you're bored.

This is from my previous experience. I increased the nicotine level when I was hooked on chain vaping. It cuts down the number of chain vaping slowly which took about one week or two which I can't really remember. Then I reduce the nicotine level back to my normal mg.
But as what Chodi mentioned, everyone is different.

My method involves serious commitment on your part and the help of a good friend, preferably someone you live with. Explain the situation and ask them very kindly to help you stop chain vaping. If they see you vaping for longer than 30 minutes at a time without a 30 minute break, ask them to help you stop chain vaping by kicking you in the genitals. And not just a tap either, I mean a real walloper, one that seems like it's going to kick them up into your chest. Use the time on the ground moaning to contemplate the error of your ways. It's a foolproof method that should help correct any bad behavior in just 4 to 10 kicks depending upon the quickness of the persons ability to learn through negative reinforcement (Any more than that and you have a serious problem [such as getting enjoyment by getting kicked in the junk] and you should see a therapist). With it, I've learned to stop smoking, drinking, overeating, speeding and forgetting to do things my wife has asked me to do. The method relies on mans instinctual enjoyment of seeing other people getting kicked in the junk so if possible, video the events and upload them to youtube. You may become the next viral sensation while helping yourself out of addiction.

One thing I noticed is that no one asked you WHY you are chain vaping.
And to me, that is the first question that should be asked.

There seem to be assumptions that it is because you need more nicotine.
And that could be true, but it could also be false.

So, do you have any idea WHY you are chain vaping?
(I'm going to guess that it's just because you can, and because you like it)
:)

When I quit smoking I didnt use a juice that contained nic. But I was vaping constantly. I still am. But since I dont use nic I feel its not a problem.
I'd much rather use more nicotine than vape more.
If anything is going to cause a health problem, it won't be the nicotine.

If you are getting too much nicotine you will know it.
Trust me, you will know it.

And you won't like it, and you won't do it again.
