Costs way too much for small packages......
So here I sit, staring out the window praying USPS has something (or 3 somethings) on the truck for me today. Does anyone know of any company that uses UPS or FedEx? Or is there some reason that they don't?

Exactly, its going to be too pricey. I'm sure you can find a vendor on here who will ship UPS, if you want to pay the extra $$.

I hate USPS. I ordered tickets that were shipped USPS and they delivered them to the wrong house. The house had the same # but was on a different street. The only reason I thought to go to those people's house and ask if they got my package, was b/c we are always getting their mail.

UPS ground on a 2lb 6x6x6 box is $11 from California to SC but of course there's no Sat delivery. I used to work for a company that shipped lots of small boxes regionally and it was about $5 for UPS ground and they'd have it delivered next or second day.

So for cross country it doesn't seem either cost or time effective, but if I could find a regional (within around 300 miles) supplier I'd happily pay $20 to get an emergency shipment of juice bottles (or atomizers...)

I do FedEx on my site and I'm thinking about discontinuing it because of how expensive it gets. Most small packages cost a little under $20, the other day I sent out a small package that cost me $35 (so I took a loss on it). I charge a flat $20. Thanks for this thread you reminded me I have to call Fedex to see why I got charged so much for that package.

We use fedex for all of our shipments.

We also do it at a flat rate of 5.00 for us customers and free for anything over 100.00.

I would much prefer to absorb the cost of shipping then for our customers or us have to deal with usps...

UPS was fine to but I find fedex has better customer service and a better online system for shipping/tracking.

Fedex has an excellent online system, great support, and have yet to screw up any orders. I also have a feeling that if they did, it would be taken care of immediately.

For suppliers staying away because of cost, I encourage you to contact them about your shipping needs. You would be surprised at how low, relatively, the volumes that are needed before you start getting discounts.

Just ask for the local rep in your area and hash it out.

Good luck :)
