I haven't seen anyone suggest a meet for SW Mo vapers lately. The interest seemed to just fizz out last year. Anyone else interested in starting meets again?

Sadly, Springfield citizens (rather 11% of the voting population) in all their collective & infinite wisdom passed a smoking ban that includes e-cigs. It's enough to make one smack their head against a wall over. So, as of June 11th, 2011 no one in the Springfield, MO city limits can smoke or use an electronic cigarette in a public place. So if we were to have a meeting, it would have to be outside of Springfield, in someone's home, or in a field. I want to burn the city to the ground atm. If anyone is interested in offering some clever ideas for meeting places, please chime in.
That is outrageous!! Well, I guess it's time for Missouri vapers to create a massive public information campaign about e-cigs!!
There are other places to meet besides Springfield. Just outside the city limits maybe?
If anyone has an idea for a location to meet that is just outside of Springfield and allows vaping please feel free to post a suggestion.

I live in Kansas but if you all get one going, please let us Kansas folks know. Springfield is about 4 hours from me but I would gladly go...I've never been to one.
Sadly, the local care bears enjoy eroding peoples right to enjoy life. We do have till June 11th before the ban takes effect if people want to meet in the near future. Otherwise we need to find a town near by. If anyone wants to meet in May we can arrange a meeting, but need to do so fairly soon as the ban is approaching.

Funny, I just drove through St. Louis over the weekend on the way back from Chicago. If I am ever up there for a concert or event, I'll give a heads up.

Joplin might be good. The tornado did not affect the hotels (maybe we could use a meeting room), and some restaurants are still going. Off the top of my head, I am thinking of Granny Shaffer's. The casinos are near by, and I wonder if that wouldn't be a good place for a larger meet.
We should really consider a meet/festival at one of the casinos, would be a great way to convert!
***Did you know that one of the nearby casinos filters all the air in the casino something like every 30 seconds. If you go there, sniff a bit. To me it smells like dryer sheets. During Thanksgiving, it smelled like pumpkin pie.

Guess I'm here kind of late. If there is a vaping meeting, I'm near Joplin and would be interested. I didn't think there were any local vapors. Glad to find some others besides myself in the area.
Hi Linda, there are a couple of us in the Joplin area. None very active as far as meetups go, I'm afraid. I haven't been very active on the forum lately, either, so there have been lots of new developments I'm not aware of. My wife and I drive a truck, so we're gone all the time. Whenever there is a meet, it never fails that I am on the other side of the country. PM me if you want to swap emails, etc., maybe we can do lunch sometime (my wife included, of course, LOL).

First of all, sorry for not having been active on the forums for a while now. I would definitely be interested in meeting in Joplin for a SW MO Vapers meeting. I know of at least 3-4 others in Springfield that would join us as well. Does anyone in Joplin have suggestions for a location in Joplin?
