Any use for 16 ga and 18 ga

Hey

I have some 16 ga and 18 ga. Not looking to vape below 0.2 (0.11 is my amp limit)

Anything that can be done with these? Couldnt find anything

haha yea thats what I figured. Wonder what it was being used for...shame have a good 30-50 ft or so combined...

Assuming it's Kanthal A1, that stuff has a resistance of 1.76 and 0.868 ohms per metre. You'd need one huge coil.

On the other hand you could make a beautiful Wheatstone Bridge to measure your coils' resistance at least as accurately than any digital meter, probably ten or a hundred times more accurately, and you'd only need carpentry skills to do it.

With the 16g, make a 10 wrap coil then bend it in half so both the leads are coming out from the same end & in the same direction (Basically a dual coil in series). Run one piece of wick up one and down the other, leaving just enough coming out of the bottom to touch the deck. That would be .2Ω (Single coil, or dual coil in series, not dual coil / quad parallel-series). I typically use this method with a 6 wrap (Or 2x 3 wraps, spaced) 22g N80 dual/"quad" coil, comes out pretty low (I forget, it's around the .1Ω range tho) but gives a great vape. The 18g would take 7 wraps by the way (Both around a 3mm mandrel).

It should be noted tho, you'll need an atty with a ton of space like the MXv2 to fit those beasts in
