I alternate between 3-6 and 0. Sometimes I'll have some 12 but nic's been tasting peppery to me lately when over 6 so I tend to not go over that. Plus even 6 can make my reflux act up. 0 has no throat hit but I like the taste of juices & whatnot, so it keeps me content all the same.

Thanks for the info. I don't want to drop too fast, but I don't want to delay it, as well.

No, Nic is so deep in my system that I'm vapeing 32mg. I can see myself weening lower and lower until I get to zero, But, I know this will sound messed up, I been smoking Cigs since I was 9 years old, In my 20's to my 30's I smoked cigars, pipes and cigs. I'm taking it slow and just very thankful something got me off cigs and other harmful things. It may be a year or more before I get to 6mg, I just don't know yet.

I've been vaping for about 5 months now. I started at 12 but quickly worked my way down to 3. I thought I would go to 0, but I have no intentions of not vaping in the future, so I don't really have any incentive to completely cut the nicotine. I love my new hobby!

Good stuff. I am taking a interest in other people's journeys in lowering their nic levels. I see myself vaping for a long time to come. I simply wish to lower my nic intake. Evident by you and others, it's very doable.

I started at 18mg (10-11-12) then went to 12mg in December because I chain vaped.. and 12mg I found was good for me.
last week I made a dumb decision to go to 6mg... wow,, I think I dropped way too quick.I was quite irritable and even though it was satisfying the hand to mouth it just wasn't satisfying...
I Vaped non stop, woke in the night,...I was just not a happy woman lol..so I went back up to 12. I'm happy here.. for now, and there's no rush.
I smoked for 35 years,, I think I'm going to enjoy being proud of myself for awhile and enjoy myself. Besides, I went into this knowing I was hoping this to work to not quit nicotine, just cigarettes. So,, I have the rest of my life to lower my mg's, and it's a life that hopefully now due to e cigs is a much longer healthier one! :)

I lost my addiction to nicotine two years ago but I still very much enjoy the act of vaping. I treat nicotine today pretty much the same as I treat caffeine ;) Most of the time I choice to drink decaffeinated coffee but once in awhile I do choose to enjoy a cup or two of caffeinated coffee :D Most of the juice I vape is zero nicotine but there are a couple juices that I enjoy that just seem to taste better with a little bit of nicotine in them so sometimes I vape a little nicotine :) It wouldn't be a problem living without caffeine or nicotine for me today but its nice knowing I have the choice now :)

Many years ago when I had a health problem my doctor advised cutting back on my caffeine intake. I was so proud when I returned for a checkup a month later that I'd not had one cup of caffeinated coffee or soft drink. My doctor laughed and said, "I didn't say you couldn't have ANY caffeine I said you need to cut back. An occasional cup of caffeine won't hurt you, it's the excess that will. If it takes having nothing to keep the amount in check then by all means drink no caffeine but If you want an occasional cup of caffeine and CAN limit how much you drink there is nothing wrong with having one once in awhile. " He told me more times then I care to remember that IF I could limit my smoking to once in a while he wouldn't bug me about it, still not the best thing for me, but the risk would be relatively small. It was the excess and inability to limit how much I smoked that would kill me one day. He's my GP but his specialty is the heart :)

I want to wean myself of the nicotine all together but wonder if I will still want to vape.

Started at 36 then 24, 18, am now at 12. Im not worrying too much about how long it takes. I just started ordering lower nic and then decided to keep going lower till I hit 0. Can't say what will happen then but I imagine I will vape still, just alot less. I am looking forward to waking up mornings and not craving it any longer though. Just stay with and be patient.

I'm down to mostly zero nic now. I still vape and plan to do so for a good while yet. I do try to limit the amount I vape now. I'll have to pay attention to it for a bit, but I doubt I am using 2 ml a day.

The biggest change with low to zero nic juice is no TH. There are a couple of tricks that will increase it a bit, but it's nothing to write home about. I don't remember taste changing, but my juice selection changed so that doesn't mean much. I also transitioned to DIY juice so I am able to tweak recepies as needed/desired.

Take your time with it mrjayd, especially the first few months. If you reduce nic too fast you risk increased smoke cravings. Best of luck to you with it and let us know how it goes!

I went from smoking the strongest cigs I could get in this country (Sweden) without breaking any laws, to vaping 18 mg. So that in and of itself was a drop in nic-intake. Dropped down to 16 afret the first three weeks. Next step is 11. After that... Hwo knows.
But regardles of nic level, I belive that I am a vaper for life. I just love it.

I’m getting close to going full-time with 0 nic. The strongest I presently buy is 6 mg, and always get the same juice in zero nic so I can bounce between the two concentrations. The exception is the first vape of the day. I need a couple or three hits using 12 or 18mg juice while I have my coffee or I just don't feel right. Perhaps that will always be the case, but I hope to be at 100% at zero nic by the end of the year. I’m going to start DIY juices at that time as well (perhaps – the list of things I want to do is always 50% longer than the time I have available to do them).

What I’ve found is that there is no taste difference in the juice with or without nic. However, there can be a difference in throat hit. Sometimes that’s a good thing – I find sweet vapes to be just as enjoyable (and sometimes more enjoyable) without TH. For those I usually up the VG in the ratio so that I get the billowy clouds of vapor. It satisfies the psychological need (and lets be blow smoke, er.. vapor rings as well).

But TH is important too. To compensate at zero nic I don’t drop below 70% PG and vape mostly with atomizers, especially rebuildables. You can really dial up the TH with a very LR coil to the point where its uncomfortable even at zero nic. A bottom feeder (such as a Reo or a Vmod) is also a great way to dial up the TH for the times when I don’t want to deal with an RBA. Just toss a good atty on, squonk the bottle, and you’re good to go.
