OP and the guys saying (commanding, really..) ''type it out'' are hilarious.

No, either YOU need to get used to video reviews, or you need to just deal with it.

Not only will a video review reach many more people, but it is the only way to get an accurate idea
of the vapor production a juice gives without using the juice.

"8/10" doesn't tell me jack squat.

I disagree about getting an accurate idea of vapor production because they almost never tell you the pg/vg ratio. I watched a few where they had plumes of vapor only to find out after asking a few questions that they were using 100%VG.

we're in the middle of putting together some video demos for our products...

now you have me all nervous that we're going to get boos! i promise the production value will be top notch...does that count?

I think the point they're all trying to make is that if you're just selling regular stock models (510, 901, 808, 801, 4081 etc) then why even do that? There are soo many video reviews on those stock models it's pretty pointless. Unless you're making instructional how-to videos just for your home page, or you're selling a specific mod that you've created yourself I just see no use whatsoever.

I like the mod or PV reviews, simply because I get to see the device and watch it in action. Kinda like "shopping."
But WHY ON EARTH would somebody film a JUICE REVIEW?? I don't wanna WATCH you TASTE a liquid. That's so dumb. Type that crap out.
Alot of stupid videos out there, but videos like size comparisons, and mod reviews (actual review and not some dummy goin "ummm" and vaping the whole time. Let's see the Goods!!!!

Watching somebody vape to see the vapor production is completely pointless.
Think about it.
I mean... feel free to waste your life watching other ppl vape. How boring can you get??

I agree about the vapor production, especially when somebody blows out uninhaled vapor to dramatize it. I've seen this in so many videos, and it reminds me of watching a TV show or movie with a nonsmoking actor trying to depict a smoker--not inhaling, just blowing out clouds of smoke. Unconvincing.

Like I said, tech and mod reviews are one thing. And often very helpfull. As far as juice reviews, as long as the review is articulate and concise(and short), it isn't that bad. I just don't find it helpfull to me. Most amatuer reviews are long and unnecessary. Just not to the point. I hope this helps.

Here and back
Early on the video reviews helped me to decide on trying e cigs (GrimmGreen, etc.), they aren't as helpful now but I'm sure they are to new comers. I agree re: "taste reviews" but I do like hardware reviews and "how to" Phee303 was very helpful with things like removing the wick and Dogsbody had a great video on how to fill an 808.

Hey! Not all review videos are equal.
Have you seen RavenVapes spoof on reviews?

YouTube - RavenVapesReview8-21-10.mov

Was it a spoof? My attention span is to short to watch much of a stuttering gum chewing who can't get out 3 words with out a pause to watch long enough. Put me one down as can't remember getting through a juice review. Must of them seem to be an ego trip with no info

Never watch them because I hate them so much. Acting is always awkward and terrible and more times than not the reviews are done out of favor to the supplier. Just bugs me. If someone is doing a video review, there is usually a good reason behind it. Now I'm not saying people don't do video reviews for the benefit of others anymore. There are some who do. But nowadays it's usually for the benefit of themselves or the supplier.

Just so everyone knows, I did some video reviews a few weeks back. I did not get paid by any supplier and they did not ask me to do the reviews. I also think that if you do not like video reviews, DO NOT WATCH THEM. Pretty simple fix. This to me is kinda like the whole "I really do not like Rush Limbaugh" crowd or the "this radio station stinks" crowd. Just turn the station, it really is that simple!!!!!!

What I really hate is people who complain about something they have complete control over. Drives me insane! Just turn the station or shut off the video. There are plenty of text reviews to look at and you can request one if you do not see it.

I don't watch them. My problem is that the video reviews are becoming more common than writen reviews, which leaves me wanting for info that I can't get except by watching a video that I don't want to see. Like I said, maybe this can be taken as constructive criticism. I would hate to see the writen word be replaced entirely by poorly made, subjective videos.

Think of this more like the arguement over what is better, the book or the movie of the book. Most people tend to like the book better.

I really like it when someone does a video review of a juice they really dislike.

I'm with you there.

I find juice reviews to be useless. And I've done two spoof juice reviews myself- just to be more obtuse than usual.

The thing with the vids, and I've done many, is to keep a perspective on why they are being done in the first place. Once you get into the practice of "nifty intros", branding, self promotion, and "senseless updates" (I've done one of those too!) it's akin to vaping self gratification.

I both laugh and cringe when I see an intro that's like "Vaping with so and so". Who cares?

Regarding the usefulness of video in general for review- it has it's place. I find it to be the best medium for what I'm trying to accomplish even though I can write well.

Love reading the criticisms though- many are funny and valid!!
