April of this year will be my two year vape anniversary.

April of last year, after completing a full year with no cigarettes, I decided to change my diet. I figured if I could stop smoking it shouldn't be too hard. No fast food, lots of water and nothing else to drink (I was a soda nut for years), no snacks, cut out as much processed food as I can, and very little meat. Lots of vegetables and fruit.

I've lost right at 100 lbs so far and it is still coming off, though no where near as quickly as I would like for it to. Of course it didn't go on all at once either, so I just stay the course.

I'm not saying vaping had anything to do with the weight loss itself, it just gave me the confidence in myself to know I could make other positive, healthy changes and stick with them

The Skinny On Smoking: Why Nicotine Curbs Appetite : NPR

Very interesting, that link. I know that one of the fears of quitting smoking for a lot of people is the weight gain, but i think a lot of that has to do with replacing smoking with snacking, or gum, or candy, to help curb the cravings. I'm finding less of an urge to snack with vaping.

Drinking water will absolutely help with losing weight.

Nicotine also releases dopamine in the brain, which is the "happy" hormone. A lot of people trying to quit smoking try to get that hit of dopamine from food, like sugar.

Smoking or using nicotine should increase your metabolism, as it's a stimulant. That's one of the features of vaping I'm curious about - I'm using my rising energy levels to up my exercise routine, but I have some concern that it's still risky to use nicotine for a period of time before doing any cardio or lifting, and after - I think it would be as dumb and dangerous as smoking while doing any of that. But, I'm getting additional kicks to my metabolism by vaping, and doing without for an hour or so to work out is a lot less painful than before.

As for people who gain while gaping, I don't know, but I'd love to know why, but we're all different, we all have different bodies, body chemistry, and lifestyle.

LOST IN THE CLOUDS-USA
Some food for thought here sort of speak. (No pun intended) I wonder if the losing weight could be from a certain kind of eliquid or where it comes from? The first few months I was Vaping I lost about 30lbs or so and was Vaping a eliquid I was getting from a B&M and the owner would not say where they got it or what was in it. Than I changed where I was getting my liquids from and it started coming back on slowly but surely. Plus I'm more active now then I was when I was losing the weight. What also makes me say this is my Dr and I had talked about my weight and decided to put me on a protein diet to see if that would help me start losing again but to no avail. Things that make you go umm?

I have lost about 10 pounds in the last 2 to 3 months. I used to sit at the computer after work and play video games while snacking. Now I do the same only splitting time messing with RBAs and gaming. I gave up the snacking for vaping sweet vapes. I no longer have to step outside for a smoke so I do not pass the kitchen every 45 minutes. :)
