I usually keep a selection of atomizers, one for each flavor I'm currently vaping on a regular basis. But yes, I do always clean them before I use any other liquid on it. The only exception is that if I'm vaping a tobacco juice, where they all taste relatively similar, I'll usually just let the new flavor slowly take over.

EDIT: I'm a dripper, so no carts to clean. Sometimes I do give the mouthpiece a bit of a rinse if it picked up some of the flavor from a juice.

I find the longer I vape the less I clean (soak) my attys. I will blow them out if I think their getting a bit flooded which may be several times in one day or not for several days in a row. I've been using the same primary atty for about two weeks now without doing an alcohol soak. I do take the cart filler out and rinse it and replace it every few days depending upon the need. With a few flavors I change the filler more often than with others. I do use a different atty for my coffee and tea flavors than I use for my other flavors as those flavors are strong and don't mix well with my most often used flavors.

Guess I'm lucky since my most often used flavors tend to blend fine for those few minutes that the taste is changing over from one taste to another for the most part.

I've only been dripping for a few days now; finally made the jump from cartomizers. Following Doctor Vaper's instructions on youtube, I've been cleaning the atomizer at the end of each vaping day with rubbing alcohol.

What I found is this: Some juice messes up atomizers wa-a-ay faster than others. I used some Chinese fruit punch juice, and even after an alcohol soak and repeated hot water rinses, I could still taste the flavor. I think I'm finally rid of it (BTW, not a bad flavor).

I watched a video of a lady soaking her atomizer in CocaCola, and thought to myself..."What a bad idea." Is it?

I drip and I only clean when I notice a drop in performace (well i just toss it in my "dirty" bin and clean them a few at a time) I follow Cozzicon's video on using iso alcohol. Soak about 20 minutes and then scoop up alcohol into the top and let it drain out the threaded end maybe 15-20 times until its a nice smooth stream comming out. Let them dry overnight and they are good to go.

I blow out my atomizer when I change flavors only if I think the two flavors will be horrible together.
Otherwise I just drip a few drops of the next flavor into my drip tip and get to vaping.

I only clean my atomizer when I get the impression there is a decrease in performance.
Although on rare occasions I will clean it to get a particularly stubborn flavor out.
