Hey guys.

Just built my first coil into a Taifun GS and all went fine. Using CVS bought organic cotton and it seem to be wicking well.

My problem is that there's an oil type taste (like industrial, not cooking) coming out of

Anyone experience that and any ideas how to avoid it? I'm using Vaporwire (kangar 28g A1).

Thanks all.

Yeah, can't really figure it out.

It is a really harsh hit with very little vapor production as well.

Not really sure how to proceed. Could there be something wrong with it?

You seem to be avoiding answering the question.

Always Fully disassemble and thoroughly clean every piece before building.
If you did not, then pour the e-liquid down the sink and do it.
E-liquid cannot be saved once contaminated.

* Also sounds like your build is out of sorts. like you are describing multiple issues.

FIY, all wire is drawn, that is, it's pulled through a die, which requires lubrication. As Kanthal is also in large part made of iron, the manufacturer does not wash the oil residue from the coiled wire as it would lead to rapid oxidization. Anneal you wire, as another poster as indicated, as it makes the wire easier to work and burns off industrial residue before use!
