Tracking shows that I will have one tomorrow with the 70W Pegasus mod. I have a Triton Mini on a Pegasus Mini and don't use it much. Too fiddly to fill and have to refill too often.

I can't seem to find anything that replaces my Melo2 tank, either on an iJust2 stick or TC60W box mod and I like the 0.3 ohm coils best ... right now LOL. Think I'll quit trying for a while after checking out the Triton V2 tomorrow.

Received the Triton V2 and Pegasus 70W mod today. My first impression ... I'm HIGHLY impressed.

There is absolutely no spit/sputter/pop/woosh/"bacon frying", not even a hint, on the supplied Aspire 0.5 ohm Clapton coil rated at 40-45 watts and currently vaped @ 42 watts. It's just a smooth, warm, virtually noiseless vape. The wicking holes on the Aspire coil are much larger than than most coils as well.

The Triton V2 out performs the Triton Mini in every regard. The only "hit" I have on either tank is the fiddly tank fill feature but am glad it's at least top fill.

I'm really enjoying this set up while drawing on some flavorless 50/50 12mg/mL (with tank air wide open). I have no idea (yet) how flavor might be.

EDIT: ... and the charging dock :)

No, the coils are not interchangeable. When I get going, I tend to chain vape and decided that 42 watts was a little warm at times and now I vape the 0.5 ohm Clapton coil @ 25 watts with the tank air just about 1/2 way open/closed. Perfect at this point ... for me.

In fact, I was just enjoying the Aspire Odyssey this evening. It is part of a group of four setups that I use daily. The Aspire Odyssey Mini is in a box in a closet LOL. The full size just performs best for me and of course the juice capacity is greater in the full size.

The full size Triton has ample openings in the chimney for wicking and the wick openings on the coils are much larger than most of this coil type. I found it works best if the chimney wick openings and coil wick openings are aligned. That MAY mean the base of the tank isn't screwed on as tightly as it might otherwise be. Regardless, I've not had a single issue or hint of a leak whatsoever.

The complaint I had with the Triton fill feature developed to a point where I had to use pliers to remove the top from the tank each time I filled it. That was rapidly turning into a show stopper for me and I reached out to the community for a possible solution ... and got one !!! Filling is no longer a problem. While the fix worked on the full size Triton ... it doesn't work for the mini. A discussion of the problem and fix can be found here ... Aspire Triton v2 would be perfect ... if.

The 70 watt Pegasus mod itself is plated top and bottom. The chrome base has a couple of wear spots already where copper(?) is showing through on the bottom, from sitting upright and sliding as I use it at my desk. No big deal but thought I'd point that out. The chrome plating must not be very thick. The unit has only been in use a couple of weeks.

Speaking of plating, the Mini I have is the rose gold colored one and the plating/metal always seemed to have an "off" taste to me. But that's probably just me and MAYBE the saliva exposed metal composition not playing/reacting nicely with metal dental work I have. Wasn't a real issue though. I preferred and used a different (delrin) drip tip on it anyway.

I don't have large hands by any means, but the Mini has always felt too small and mine is kind of slippery a bit. The sensation was that of trying to hold a small fish LOL. The full size is much more comfortable in my hands but does weigh quite a bit more if light(er) weight portability is a primary consideration.

Good vapor density and casual vapor volume is easily obtained from both the full size and mini. I just prefer the full size to the mini. But in that regard, neither disappoint. I can't really speak to juice "taste". I vape mostly unflavored and occasionally mix some very lightly flavored or light menthol juice.

In your opinion, is it possible to run the standard Triton V2 on a DNA40 single 18650 device in wattage mode (TC shouldn't be a problem with TC coil heads). I'm looking for a tank that I can run on a mod that I ordered recently.

Also regarding the Triton mini, do you think the tank is still too big for a mini volt 40W? Also can you do direct lung hits with the mini? As I read its better suited for MTL.

Shouldn't be an issue in either of those configurations. While I don't have that hardware, I don't see why not. Just be sure to NEVER vape Ni or Ti coils in wattage or bypass mode. It MAY be "safe" to do so, but certainly may not be healthy at.all. depending on the temperature the Ni or Ti coils reach. As I understand it, Ni and Ti have toxic off gas at high temp (above 600*F) and that isn't healthy. That's why one should only use Ni and Ti in TC mode.

I wouldn't say the mini is either designed for MTL or DL hits. My impression is that with some fiddling with the tank air adjustment and in the case of MTL maybe try a smaller opening drip tip ... one is able to MTL OR DL hit as one prefers. The mini gives one the opportunity to experience all styles of vaping, including TC, but doesn't excel at any one. There are much better setups for each specific style.

I was unable to find the sweet spot with Ni and TC on the mini, only a tolerable spot. Maybe that's why temperature adjustment is done in one degree increments on the mini, when most devices go in ten degree increments and are often better at a broader range of temperatures.

I'm most comfortable DL with the mini, even with smaller bore drip tips. I never was able to configure the mini for MTL in a way that was very pleasing to me and at times, I prefer MTL. On the other hand, those who are "spoiled" by better DL devices and prefer that style, would just as likely be disappointed with the mini and DL hits. FOR ME ... it was okay, while a bit restrictive.

Give me a few minutes. Have to dig the mini back out LOL ...

Some quick pics ...

Sorry about the stupid CFL lighting. It does funny things to the colors and in the case of the setup on the left, the chrome has a bad shadow and fingerprint on it. Otherwise, the chrome is shiny all the way across. Just a size comparison ...

No problem. The full size one is juiced up and ready to go. The mini is empty and doesn't even have a coil in it.

Really appreciate this, really informative. I do like how you have your mod and tank color coordinated, sorta ocd like myself haha anyway, I think I'm going to try the Triton V2 first on the dna40 mod, the mini looks like it can def work well with the mini volt mod, seeing as how they're standard coils all require less than 30watts to power.

I just realized that they charge double for Aspire stuff here in China when compared to the States, what a shame. I guess I'll have to get one state side the next time i return.

I looked at that "fix" and not sure how that would loosen the top cap to the point of not using pliers. I never used the original DT that came with it anyway.

I still like the Triton 2, however, since the TFV 4 came out the Triton is now back in its box. No pliers needed for that puppy! Just slide the top over, fill and vape. No muss no fuss.

I also own both the triton 2 and mini. As well As the Pegasus mini mod here are some convoluted out of order thoughts if you want them

The triton mini Coils have horribly shirt lifespans. The Clapton can be measured in minutes. The nickel are ok not great.

The Pegasus mini Mod has the worst paint/ finish of any mod I've bought. It's like they didn't prep the metal properly. The Pegasus mini mod also has big issues sticking on a lot of my batteries with the terrible record arm design.

The triton mini tank flavor is fair. It may be better than the triton 2 with 1.8 coils but the issue is - coils last 6-12 ml isn't good enough

Between these two and the ego mega / Tron s tank with clr coils. I find the clr setup to Be far superior. The full size triton 1.8 coils have a very very strange taste polluting the juice. The mini share the flavor issue by its minimal closest ivory. This leads me to believe it's the cotton they use.

Overall I can't say I'm thrilled with either one. I'm
Giving the triton 2 a bit more time but honestly for most people who mouth to lung Almost any tank based on the clr coils:

Ego mega
Tron t/s
Pico clone
Etc

Makes much better vape density (not volume unless you want it) wicks better. Tastes cleaner. And on and on and on.

The cl coils are garbage. The clr are good out of the box. Rewick them to be great (you can rebuild the clr coils they're like Mini rba but they're also
Cheap Enough to throw away or in a bucket

Clr coils take me about three minutes a coil to make from Start to finish. That's not rushing. So what I do is put the spend ones in a battery case and rebuild 5-10 at a time. Then not again for a couple months.

A pack of clr coils is 12$ and can be used infinitely.

Anyway. I've spent a fair bit chasing a great MTL experience and if you want something that takes coils which can be thrown away I don't feel the aspire stuff is the best choice.

I've offered to circulate a Tron t and clr coils in another thread. We're starting a list. You get it. Try it for a couple weeks. Then mail
It to the next person. But I can get an ego mega tanks or $13 right now so that and a pack
Of clr 1.0 ohm (the .5 and temp Control have much larger air holes so for MTL they're not the right choice) you're at $25. Not much to try something.
