I have 24 acres of land in the raw... can be zoned agricultural/livestock... I have some folks that are interested in leasing it from me on a six month to annual basis .. I am interested to know from anyone that may have experience with this, as I have never leased land before.
I am concerned about potential negatives that may biteme in the end on legal issues.. and a possible fair monthly price estimate!
If I do this.. I want to be fair in my asking price per month.. but I don't want to just give it away. Just want to see what everyones thoughts were on this and anyone who has experience handling cattle... I will not be doing any of the tending to them, but I was wondering if i should be concerned about getting dinged as the land owner.. If an agricultural inspector brings up issues about this guy performing negligence or not maintaining the cattle by statute. I consider this a big issue as well, but do not know the overall implications that will impact me, as the land owner.

Any comments are appreciated,

Tom

Tom--asking for legal advise on a forum is really not the way to go. You need to retain Competent Counsel in your area who is licensed to practice law in your jurisdiction and actually practices property law. A criminal defense attorney or family law attorney who does not know the ins and outs of property law can be retained, but it is best to retain an attorney who specalizes in property law.
