So with all these lawsuits filed against the FDA in federal courts, when can we expect to hear anything? Based on what happened back in 2011, it was about 8 month. So does that mean early next year is when we might hear what judges think?
Anyone know when we can expect to hear something from the FDA lawsuits?

Claiming they will not respond by 8/16 is unknown. I would be surprised if they did not as it is their first opportunity to rebut the arguments presented by the plaintiff. Even if it's a simple "we deny", they will file something, otherwise in the absence of any opposition a summary judgement would be in the cards against the FDA. The FDA might ask for an extension to answer, but this isn't like not responding to a letter from Sen. Johnson.
Admittedly, I can't see the future. I was just basing that on their reluctance to respond to any other inquiries on the subject. If they do submit a response, it'll probably just be the entire 500-page text of the deeming regulations. Either way, we'll know one way or the other by this time next week.
I guarantee they'll respond and it won't be the way you're suggesting. That would make the judge absolutely furious. Serious consequences flow from the failure to respond to a motion for summary judgment.
