Anyone seen this nice RBA ? A8?

Got mine on Saturday. First thing I did was give it a thorough cleaning, then rebuilt with a hybrid 2mm silica/400 mesh and 28g Kanthal A1. Like others have mentioned, I'm getting a weird taste and very weak draw out of it. I don't think enough air is getting to the wick.

I put it down on its side thinking I'll get back to it eventually. Just opened it up right now to take a pick of my setup for this post and there's pool of juice collecting.

So far I'm really disappointed. I liked the A7. It was my first dripping rba. It's been replaced by the IGO-L, but I still use it to test out new juice. Hope to get the A8 working and get some use out of it.

As Alice said, these were in a recent co-op. I opted to get 1 of them bc I hadn't heard anything good. (Also got an A7 mini and black chrome A7 bc I love my A7s) But, when I get this in, I'll definitely be playing with a mesh setup. Silica has it's place, but typically, a tank is not it. If you try silica in this, you're basically getting a CE2 tank (minus the CE) I will post some pics when I get it going.

I am running my A8 right now with silica and it is working pretty good, not great, but it is the installed wick that came with it,along with 2 more replacements.I will be using 3mm silica with it when i burn thru these and see how well it goes but i will also be running a sub ohm coil in it when i do.For the price,it functions and serves the purpose and with almost 3ml's of juice in the tank,it lasts all day.I can say that the vape is on the warm side as the coil sits just below the drip tip in the top chamber. Those that do not like a warm vape will not like this one at all.

This is gonna be an interesting tank. I am thinking its gonna be similar to my Smoktech R tank in warmth.
Is anyone enjoying this vape? I should be receiving mine tomorrow. I'm excited to give it a try.
One thing I AM worried about is getting mesh into it. I do not like silica.
Especially since now I have linked silica to my nausea/chest pain from vaping. (personally)

Anyone enjoying this thing? Any tips on rebuilding with silica? Hows build quality?

With the air coming up under the coil it shouldn't be harsh unless it's not wicking. By it singing so fast also suggests it's not wicking good.

When you do your nr build, I'd suggest putting a thin layer of cotton, cut from the rounds, over the center hole, mounting the coil down against it, then pulling it out, so that the coil is close to the hole. Then when you start vaping it, and if it tastes ok, drip a couple of times to keep it moist. Then when you stop dripping and if it turns harsh, you'll know it's not wicking.

dang. if thats considered a singe, my A7 is burnt to all hell. i dont get it though, it tastes just fine. what did i do wrong?

my guess is your bad taste is coming from those long leads. maybe give it a shot tightening up those leads close to the posts.

It looks like you still have the rubber gromet that held the wicks thru the hole still in place, remove that it is not needed. If it is removed sorry the angle i am seeing it from looks like it is still in place.

Well, since no one has responded, I opened the stock airhole to 1/16 and although it helped it was still too tight of a draw. The I proceded to drill a 1/16 hole to the top cap, it vapes ok a few times then it starts to taste bad, like it´s not wicking properly.

I´m using cotton and tried at first with 2 strands of it, then just one.

I´m going to open a second hole to the tank to see if it helps with the wicking and if not, trash´em.

I've been using mine for about 3 months. I'm using 3mill silica without rubber oring. I double up the silica "about a quarter inch"with the 32g kanthal rapped around I've tried a did and a couple others and this setup is only one that works good for me. I was a dropper before never again. If you try this way I'm pretty sure you'll get good results the extra wick acts as a place to hold more liquid if you have
any questions pm me and I'll get back to you. I'll try to put up some pics tomorrow. I only got a weird taste when using it with original coils. It's my main Atty don't use anything else. I'm going to get a few more from empire. It's definatly an awesome rba after you figure out your set up!
