Ha, I picked one up for my EA mod, but then the day it arrived I sold the EA because of the adjustable center pin (it pushed too much on my atties causing me to fry one of them), so now I have it, brand new waiting for my new mech to arrive. So I can tell you in hopefully a couple weeks how it is, though honestly I hope I don't know it's done it's job cause that would mean I had a bad short somewhere. Always better to be safe than sorry though!

They can save you from replacing a battery spring in case of a short. But I saw Pbusardo use a fuse with a kick in his review of the EA mod. That seemed kind of redundant to me as the kick already has protection built into it. I have both, so I may double up as well, idk.

The fuse kicks in faster than the kicks protection that is why he does that.I do the same thing in my mech's.

Seems like some folks were going to try them
I wan't to get the reusable one to help prevent shorts
I know its not a cure all,but it may be better than nothing

Or is there a better fuse?

Thanks in advance :)

I recently purchased the v2 because it was supposed to be reusable after it shorts. Well, it worked flawlessly for one month and then suddenly, it shorted once on my mini vivi novas. Keep in mind that it only shorted once. After reading the VapeSafe 2 instructions and letting it cool down and reset itself, I placed the fuse back in the mod as usual and fired up my KTS mod with a fully charged AW 18350 battery. No vape came out, however, after sucking on the mod several times, a small amount of vape came out. I thought it was eventually going to kick in like it was working before the short, but no luck. True that it resetted itself, but what's the point if it isn't going to work at its full capacity. I contact the place where I bought the VapeSafe2 from and they contacted the manufacturer to see if they can replace my fuse. Unfortunately, they said that the fuse was constantly shorted several times and therefore, is no longer to work at it's full capacity. The fuse shorted ONLY ONCE and not several times, so their claim was inaccurate to begin with. Had I known that this was how this fuse performs I would've just bought the cheaper VapeSafe 1 instead, knowing that it was a 1 time fuse. If you think about it, VapeSafe2 is also a 1 time fuse...well, at least in my case it was a 1 time fuse.

So in short, don't buy the expensive v2 and just get the cheaper v1 of this fuse if you really must get a fuse to protect your mod and battery. I was robbed $15 + shipping ($4) this piece of .... fuse with crappy ... customer service and support. F THEM ......!!! hahahha....SORRY FOR CUSSING BUT THAT'S HOW I FEEL FOR THE MOMENT. PEACE OUT!!

I don't know where you paid $15 for it,mine was only $7.99 when i purchased, and it is still working flawlessly to date.Electronic parts do/and will fail alot of times before they are supposed to(Heat, expansion from heat, shrinking from cooling,etc..),that is the nature of electronics.

Actually I got mine from RTD vapor and it had a similar failure. It shorted once and then didn't reset itself at all. I sent it back and got it replaced and the new one works, but I haven't shorted it yet. So if these don't really reset that well then any $2 or $3 fuse should be fine. Why pay the extra money for a RESETTABLE fuse if it doesn't really RESET.

Lithium Ion batteries, while generally described as "safe," have been known to vent hot gasses and in some cases, explode. The leading cause of a venting battery is a hard short. The Vape Safe is a mechanical fuse that trips if it senses a short in the mod by shutting down the battery. The Vape Safe can also help protect variable voltage circuitry, hot springs and other circuitry inside your mod that can be damaged in the case of a hard short.

There are two versions of the Vape Safe:

Version 1: http://www.thevapesafe.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=22&Itemid=174

Version 2: http://www.thevapesafe.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=22&Itemid=175

Protects against hard shorts in 3.7V single battery devices as well as 6V-7.4V stacked battery devices.
Protects batteries during charging.
Prevents hot springs from collapsing.

I've been buying so much vape stuff from so many websites that I forgot where I got the Vapesafe 2 fuse from. The point of my comment was that it's not worth paying the extra cash for the v2 if it doesn't work as claimed. Just buy the cheaper v1 fuse that doesn't reset....that's it. You paid $7.99 for the version 2 that resets/reusable? You sure? That price is more of the version 1 that doesn't reset. Where did you get yours from?

I understand that electronic components go out eventually due to circumstance, such as human error or improper care. But to get a short 1 time and not being able to work again is just plain poor product claim. Look at "djslik" who had a similar 1 time use of this same reusable fuse.

Yes $7.99 at MVS when they first came out they were on sale for like 4-5 months at that price.I understand the point you were making and i was not trying to derail it,i just could not understand the price you paid when just about every vendor had them for that cheap starting out price.

If you buy the version 1, it is not resetable(1 time use). Version 2 claims that it's resetable, however, in my case it didn't reset at all. I wasted my money on this crap after 1 month of use and only 1 short circuit incidence. Just get the Smoktech Kick Clone instead. It's not only a kick, which will improve your mech mod's performamce, but also a short circuit protector. The price is pretty much the same as a fuse. I got mine from Healthcabin.com for less than $20.

I just got one and it does not work on any mod I have. It's not blown but little or no power passes to the atomizer. Is there some trick to get it to work? Hope I did not burn $15....
