Could be any. I have not picked one yet. The card problems I keep reading about are starting to make me think it is time to use gift cards. I was thinking of getting one at Wallmart.

I think I'm going to start too just because of all the hoopla going on. Do you just buy one and reload it or do you buy them separately for each order? myrany, where do you reload them since you use a reloadable, do you call a 800 number and add funds or something else? how do you handle small balances left on the card if you don't reload(you know the oddball remaining amounts always leftover)? how do you split payment with a new cards if you don't reload? sorry if I sound dumb here, but I'm just researching my options.

I have the vanilla reloadable visa from walgreens

So far I have been able to use it with all US vendors except sure vapes. For some reason their software doesn't like it.

But that's not a gift card - there is a difference and aren't treated them same as credit & debit card transactions - because they aren't. (Gift cards aren't re-loadable.) On a gift card it isn't you and your money any more. It's "that place" holding the bucks with the name on the card. In effect it's a third party transaction involving the gift card place paying out money anonymously - your name isn't tied to a gift card. You are lucky with your Vanilla Visa - their track record for Vanilla gift card problems is abysmal.

A merchant has to be set up to accept a gift card payment, plus an additional payment for any remaining balance due to be charged to a regular debit or credit card when necessary. I'm not aware of any e-cig vendors that are set up to accept multiple payments/forms of payment on the same order. In store systems are designed to handle multiple type of payment transactions more readily than on-line merchants.

Mine I go in to Walgreens and get a reload card for however much I want to put on it. Come home and do the reload over the internet. There is a way to setup a direct bank transfer via internet but I wanted my vape supplies card totally separated from all bank accounts.

ok thanks myrany and rickajho-gave me the info I needed/asked-appreciated:) I guess for most items, it's fine for me to use a vanilla card(the non returnable stuff, and maybe a cc for the big items-for returns/potential issues/exchanges etc?)-or just a separate account for vape supplies only(which I don't want to do, but it's an option). I do like the reloadable aspect of the vanilla cards and no relation to any other personal accts.
