There's a new kind of mod that uses no battery and can even help people with asthma[emoji6]

I am not sure what you are expecting to see, APVs as a whole are simple devices, a battery holder, a switch and either some kind of VV/VW chip or nothing else. Most of the 'innovation' is either just restyling or more power (as you mentioned). There is not a lot you can do unless you redesign from the ground up...

This is the only innovative device I have seen: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/evoke-the-first-smart-vaporizer-powered-by-induction

You do obviously see a lot more creativity in the atomizer realm, Kayfuns paving the way for other RTAs (such as the Rose, Erlkönigin etc)

That Kato is like a fancy-pants version of the iTaste VTR!

Looks far nicer than mine :( Plus the ring is actually a decent size without the need for modification....

But I wouldn't really call it innovative.

The Kato PV is a Mechanical Mod. You will need a kick and shorter battery to adjust power. Need to ask Innokin to make a replacement top. I believe the frame can accept up to 22mm dia. Maybe they will make one if enough people ask. I like my ohm meter and voltage/power adjustability on my VTR.

Ok, I retract the statement and replace it with 'The Kato looks like a more beautiful mech version of the VTR'

As you can see from my picture the VTR does indeed accommodate a 22mm diameter atomizer (Kayfun on mine), but I did shave down the inside of the ring.

Yes I agree, Innokin should sell a replacement top part with a larger ring, or at the very least bring out a 'version 2' (or V22) of the VTR which comes with a 22mm diameter ring. I am sure that it would make the VTR far more appealing for those looking to buy a VW Box style device that had previously been put off by the thought of having to use the extension piece.

IMHO, it seems everything is just aesthetics... or with higher watts like the OP stated...the only thing you might see is longer battery life and higher amp limit for the battery.

Besides E-Juice, I've slowed down a lot in buying vape stuff, I catch myself thinking..when looking at mods or vape acessories these days...I use to say "whoa gotta get that and now...nah..maybe something better will come along"

If they are going to work on new features, how about a connector that's an improvement over 510 threading? Maybe something the snapped and locked in place, like a hydraulic connector. That might be cool.

The new standard is probably going to be the 22mm thread which is being used on several hybrid mods.

IPV2 is about to flood the community. 50watt box mod with adjustable 510, touch sensor fire button- but also analogue/tact buttons, removable 18650 battery, usb charging also.. but it's pretty big. The mini ipv should be coming out soon, and it will have a removable battery, unlike all other mini ~DNA mods.

Edit- I got mine on elev8vape for $80.
