The conspiracy theorist in me says people having problems are the competition, or are buying from smaller dealers and getting counterfeit products.

I've only been vaping for a couple of weeks and I am still using the same coils on my Iclear 30's. Seems like simple technology to manufacture and Aspire seem's like they put out good products. Not even electronics have as much failure as some people report on coils and wick's. It's a tube with a threaded contact and a coil attached with some wicking and holes. How hard can it be to make reliably?

Most people don't report any trouble or very minor trouble but some people report constant major trouble over and over. Just doesn't add up to me.

Is there a "cold war" between manufacturer's trying to shape opinion?

UPDATE! I think I know what the problem is, or at least why we're getting different results. First of all, they test perfectly. 1.6 on the nose.

Keep in mind a) I am an old woman with old eyes! b) the hub is asleep and since he is due at work at 6 am, I can't go rumbling around in there to get my magnifying glass off my desk. So, after fetching a flashlight and looking and looking and looking, here is what I see. I lined up one of the new BVC I got last week, one from the box that arrived today and an old duel coil.

I see two differences. One, the pin that connects to the bottom to connect to the battery is pushed much farther in on the coil that arrived today that does not work than the other two. Even more interesting, the old duel coil and a new coil from last weeks box have identical threading. The one from today's box has different threading, it either has one more row OR they are spaced slightly farther apart. I am talking about the threading that screws into the center stem. My guess is it is just enough to change the height that the coil does not make good (or in my case any) contact with the battery. Once the hub goes to work I can try other batteries...again, they're in the bedroom.

Anyway, if anyone is still up and has examples of both - and perhaps better eyesight, I hope you'll take a look at an old duel coil and a new BVC and see if you agree.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I got rid of all my BDC's so I cant compare, but if you figure anything else out or solve your issue please let us know!

My first post, been vaping about three months. Using a Hana Mod, have two nautilus tanks that have worked well with the BDC heads. Using a 50/50 juice, one dark and one light. Got the new BVC heads in today, installed and let em sit for about 15 minutes. Started at 12.5 watts, juice in my mouth on both tanks. Disassembled, cleaned and tried smaller airflow holes - juice in the center tube, mouth etc. Pulled em, tried two new ones, repeated the exercise - no change. Reinserted my BDC heads (one 1.6 the other 1.8), working well again. Did notice that the airflow through the heads (mouth to top of tube) seems VERY loose. Emailed Aspire and we shall see. For now, back to the BDC and 11.5 watts.

Thinking about trying to block on the holes in the side of the head, or maybe two. Any ideas?

I've heard that when you reattach your base make sure that the airholes are closed.

I've never heard that, and have never had to do that...

Be sure to open your air holes to the largest setting, too much negative pressure in the tank will cause flooding. When you draw on the tank, you increase pressure in the tank, it works kind of like a straw. Decrease the airflow, and you get more liquid in the wicks, open the airholes, and you don't pull in as much liquid, the increased air increases the heat of the coil and burns off more liquid.

Another failed BVC coil, that makes 8. What the heck??? Anyone having the same problem of the resistance increasing. I start @ 1.8-1.9 then after a few hours of vaping they start drying out and tasting horrible as the resistance increases to 2.2 - 2.5 ohms . It's doing this on both my MVP 2 and VV3 and in both mini and full size Nautilus. Abby at Aspire has asked me to send pics and this morning asked me to send a video.
I just order 2 boxes of 1.6 ohm BVC's from 101. As getting my $40 worth out of Aspire is going to be project. I hope I get this figured out soon. I can't remember what a good toot even taste like.
Anyone having a similar experience? Suggestions?

I'm experiencing the opposite results. The only difference I see right off hand is that my Coils are 1.8ohm and you said yours was 1.6 ? Pretty weird. I sure hope abby takes care of you. I think a video of the resistance rising would insure you a very rapid replacement...JM2C- Dave Edit: I see now that only your new heads are 1.6....I'm at a loss. :(

Maybe they just wanted proof that you bought some in the first place?

That's a thought. They credited me with a a coupon for a free box (I pay shipping) so that's coming. I am still communicating with them about their suggestions on cleaning the coil before changing the juice flavor. On the whole, I am satisfied with the customer service.

I just got some BVC coils and am having problems with juice leaking thru the airflow hole. I have it at the largest airhole but juice is leaking into the airhole assembly and blocking the airhole thus producing low vapor. I've tried clearing out the juice with a paper towel rolled to a sharp point but more juice ends up leaking. Anyone else having this specific issue with the new BVC coils?

This is very similar to the problem I have with the first box. Cleaning, taking apart and cleaning, cleaning the heads etc, nothing worked but another box

I'm unsure...Could be any weak link in the system really....I use my BVC's in my full size Nautilus and they're completely compatible. I know it's frustrating as hell but I'll encourage you to keep on trying til you get it figured out as I believe it's worth it....-Dave

I agree completely. Once I got coils that worked, the result is very impressive. Even my wife sat up and took notice, so I got her a mini. She really likes it.

Well today I was messing around some more with it, Didn't even clean it out this time just went straight to putting in juice today. So it seems when I put 3ml+ into the nautilus tank this thing works great! for some reason anything under about the 3ml point and it doesn't want to hit at all or will just gurgle horribly. I did order a mini which should be here today or Thursday and since that is only 2ml I'm sure I'll be filling that up all the way every time anyway, hope this stays true but I will keep messing with it and see if this fixes it everytime or if I've just been lucky today haha. EDIT: Just wanted to throw in that I'm using the largest airhole at about 13-15 watts.

Now you have me wondering how many people have been doing this. Testing out the New Heads without Filling properly. You cannot establish proper negative pressure with a partially filled tank.(Unless you hole it upside down and suck the air pressure down)

And why are people Washing the Heads before installing? If you feel the need.........like cigarettes were sterile.........
Make sure they have time to fully Dry.

If the Tank starts to Flood, Never open it! Turn it Base UP and blow it out through the Air inlet.(tissue over drip tip)
