Never was a fan of arborvitae. I much prefer red cedar instead.

bah, when it rains I just let the grass grow. I don't have the patience to deal with wet grass bunging up my mower. You're a more dedicated lawn guy than I am!
I don't want it 8" high again like when wifey and I came back from Alexandria, LA...and the way the weather has been I can't exactly wait out mother nature, LOL.
That's where I'm at. Was so hot last weekend I let it slide since it wasn't going to grow. This weekend it's cooler, but I've worked every day so no time to mow. Fortunately it didn't grow much. Just got some tall weeds coming out and I can send the kid out with the weed eater after those.
Just need to keep the garden beds wet and all the chili plants in the greenhouse shelves. If I can keep the damned bugs from eatin' em up!
Ours is about 6" in places, but it's been raining every day, so to hell with it. If I can get 2 dry days in a row, then I'll mow.
I mowed most of this in a light rain, but then the sky decided to open up. I'll get the rest tomorrow.
