Apollo Stainless Steel vTube Review!

Got a question for those that received their full size SS tubes. Do the button top AW IMRs fit? I don't have any flat top IMRs and would like to know if I'm going to have to pick up another set of batteries.

Both style batteries do in fact fit the device. However, AW said they never made a "flat top". Beware if you have an "AW" that is a flat top.

Has anyone tried AW button top 18350s in the mini? Their IMRs have served me well for over two years and I'd like to stick with them if possible.

I believe that is what I am running in my mini right now. I bought mine from Super T Manufacturing. If thats the ones you are referring to then yes, they work great.

All my AW 18650 IMRs are button tops and all my 18650 protected batts are flat tops. I appreciate this confirmation. At least I won't have to pick up any new batts. I don't generally trust the batts that come with kits.

Does anyone seem to have the issue where the vtube does activate, but it just doesn't "hit" hard enough?

I'll have good hits that feel like 5.5-6v, then others that just don't. Some are warmer, some aren't. I'll be at 6v and get a nice warm hit, then after a couple of hits it's just cold again and the vapor is lacking. This is all with a wet atomizer too.

That can happen here and there if the atty cools. Usually the first hit is kinda weak but once it is a little warmed the hits just pop.

I love the build quality on my stainless...absolutely stunning! I will set this down next to anyones provari without feeling like a cheapo.

My steel capped DCT fits snug to connector, a little tight on the draw, but a piece of paper (i just use whatever is handy but a buisness card works a treat) between the two when tightening and then pulling it out gives me a nice draw.

That center post does make me a little nervous long term though...the split top looks a little thin

I assume you are talking about the split in the canter pin correct? I thought that to be a little excessive too. A smaller split would work fine I think but Ive no reason to think the pin would cause any issues. I think its a great idea myself because I have several batteries that I have to always tweak the pin to get them to fire. Problem solved here. Loving the device and build quality. Hoping my replacement will be just as good with correct threading on the 510.

I was rather surprised that my mini actually does hit as hard as my full.

Just out of curiosity...I have seen both the chrome and stainless...I could not tell them apart. Anyone do a scratch test or anything to confirm that they are stainless?

There were some folks that were buying the "short" 510/510 adapter to use the Stardust/Vision eGos's with their new VTube. Can someone post a picture of this? I have the 510/eGo adapter and wanted to see the difference with the shortie adapter. Thanks

Also any complaints about the draw become a moot issue when you use a sealed adapter.
