Be gentle...I'm a review virgin. I hardly ever read them, much less have I written one.

So, I saw it a few times...and finally couldn't handle it. The Apollo vtube sale was simply too good to not try an upgrade to my kgo. Below is my free form review as thoughts hit me from a noob perspective.

Price...awesome. I had plenty of 510 stuff, so it was a really cheap entry into VV

Vendor...awesome. Fast shipping, exactly what was ordered, etc.

The vtube...not a single regret. After a few weeks I am on SR cartos, and have bought extra batteries (kit comes with one). I was torn between the mini and regular. I went regular thinking it would only be used at home. I was so wrong...I haul it most places. It comes to work with me, out and about, etc. I rapidly got over the size to the point my 1100 kgo feels small. When I put it in my pocket I wish I had the mini...but I am ok with it as is 90% of the time. I love the VV...I can turn it down in the morning when I want a lighter hit and up when I feel the need. Certain juices taste better at certain voltages, I now get that. I have had ZERO functionality issue after using this 98% of the time since I got it.

Fit and finish:
It seems put together well, with a few drawbacks. I have never dropped it, but I expect the end caps could break easily. I've seen the hex head fixes so I am not worried. I have worn the paint off the fire button and the nubs on both caps (just from rolling on my desk it would seem). Personally, I don't care. Some might. If I hold it and shake it, the + and - buttons rattle a a bit. Not a deal breaker again, it is an inexpensive VV and I truly would rather that than lose a feature.

The kit:
I now wish I had bought just the tube. Why? Because the charger is a single charger. I fully expect I will need an xtar dual charger that can handle other batteries. Not an issue for some, an issue for me. I would miss the case if I did, as I use that to haul not the vtube, but cartos and batteries and my kgo as a backup. It's a solid kit and gives all that is needed, I just have different need than the day I purchased.

The absolute most important part of the review right here folks:

Would I do it again? Damn right I would. I may even end up with an Apollo mini in the near future. My next will be chrome or ss.

thanks for your review!

I agree the vTube is priced great, and the customer service is top notch. I want one, I wonder if there is something you could do to tighten up the + and - . I would expect the paint to wear a little with normal use, not a deal breaker for me tho.

How does it perform on the batteries included?

I would think it would require more work than it's worth to tighten the buttons. Standard feature on all the clones from what I read :)

My kit only came with one 1600 battery. It easily takes me through a day. I got two more from orbtronics so life is good with the vtube for me.

The only thing I can think of that would fix the buttons is maybe a little RTV silicone. But then that would mar up the finish some. But if one was able to get it injected just around the buttons where it didn't come out much. RTV has good rubbery play to it, so the buttons should still work. Nice thing is, if it doesn't look right, RTV comes off pretty easily. Might be worth trying. The button issue was one of the downers in my review I wrote in Apollo's subforum and I'm about to post up here.
