...hoping to lose his innocence this Friday! :D

Hello peoples... soon-to-be e-cig "smoker" DaveDzRochNY here.

JUST heard about e-cigs for the first time last Thursday from a gal at work.
At first I thought she was talking about Eclipse cigarettes until she
mentioned a battery and LED.

That led to a few days of scouring the 'net and deciding that I *WANT*
to leave the tobacco. I've been smoking for 33 years and am currently
at 2.5 packs a day (menthol lights). I do an elCheapo Native American
brand ($13/carton), so I realize this will be a cost INCREASE for me.
But that's OK.

Placed an order with Totally Wicked and the package is on its way.
Titan starter kit, 2 extra batteries, 2 extra atomizers, passel of blanks,
18 and 24 menthol liquid and a carrying tin.

But the more I read here about people's problems and the gyrations
some seem to go through in order to e-smoke is making me think the
road to abandoning tobacco will NOT be an easy one.

So, just thought I'd stop in, say "hey!" and hope a few words of
encouragement will help the voyage be a short one to the Land of Ever-E!

Thanks for reading!

Your gonna like that 510, a lot. Hopefully it will be an easy transition fopr you, it was for me. Well at least the easiest thing I have tried so far, and I tried everything. There will still be urges, I still have them but it passes quickly. I had to get out of my truck and run a few days ago, a baby bird was running down the road trying to jump up over the curb but couldn't. I caught him and put him up in the grass(man they are mean) so he could get back into the woods. I was not winded to bad and took a few deep breaths and was back to normal. Two months ago I would have had another stroke and I owe it all to E-ciggs. Good luck and post any problems you might have.

Oh, welcome to the forum!

hello and welcome!

and yes, i'd agree with the sentiment that you shouldn't "force" yourself into thinking you're quitting, just consider it as an alternative. i think most folks don't really try, just end up quitting because they prefer the ecig to the real thing :)

i know that i really dislike the odor and taste of real cigarettes now after 3 months and wouldn't want to even go back.

Hi Dave and welcome!

It sounds as though you've done a good job researching and are off to a good start! I suggest that you keep in mind that for the first couple of days it might be tough. Some people have troubles, others don't. If you feel like you need an analog to supplement, don't beat yourself up about it. Ease into it while you get the hang of it if you need to do so. Every cigarette you avoid is a victory!

Also, if you've not found it yet there is a specific forum for discussion on your soon to arrive model Joye 510 - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat Each model seems to have its own learning curve so that section may be helpful as well.

I wish you all the best and hope you come to love vaping as much as so many of us do!
