I tend to be a late adopter with almost every innovation that comes down the way, so it's only been in the last couple of weeks that an eGo Twist found its way to me. And then this weekend, my introduction to clearomizers (the rebuildable CE4 from Good Prophets) was in the mailbox. Combined, the two provide an astonishingly nice vape! Unlike a lot of newer technologies, this is a setup I'd recommend to a smoker from the get-go for its vapor deliver, ease of maintenance, and affordability.
That said... The one remaining issue for me with this setup is how LONG the total unit is. It could be it's in part a "guy thing" carryover from smoking, as I didn't switch entirely from Kings to 100s until about 25 years in as a smoker (thinking they were too "girly"). But I also find myself in places where stealth vaping is a must. At any rate, up to now I've mostly chosen my gear to be as short as possible. With eGos, I preferred the 650 mAh size. I never went for XL cartos, preferring to cut down my tank to fit the standard ones. When using my short-battery eGo and standard carto, I dispensed with the drip tip entirely, or if I needed one to avoid heat and sizzle I found the shortest one I could. So now the Twist/clearomizer setup takes me to the opposite extreme! First, the length of the 650 mAh Twist battery took me by surprise. (At first I thought the vendor had messed up and sent me the wrong one.) And likewise the clearo seems to be more or equivalent to XL. Even the mouthpiece is considerably longer than my usual drip tip. The result is a unit that is at least one-third longer than either my eGo or my box mod setups.
Now I know that quality of nicotine delivery will win out and I will be using this setup a lot, regardless of my disliking its length. And I also understand that mAhs and VV circuitry require length. As for the clearomizers, it's nice to have that much liquid handy, and their slimness (compared to my carto tank) requires a certain amount of length. Still, for a unit closer in size to my eGo 650, I think I would sacrifice a ML or so of liquid capacity and even a certain amount of battery life (I'm pretty disciplined about battery swapping, dating back to 510 days...)
Anybody else feel the same way?
