To answer the question of the title, almost nobody really "gets it", until they try one out. It's fairly obvious just by reading a few posts... Once people try an APV, they very rarely go back.
I remember back when I was so excited about my V4L kit, and thought, "There's NO WAY I'm gonna pay that much for a PV!" I have had a Provari since about my second month of vaping...
I think somewhere in that world of e-cig thoughts, we were thinking alike. 3 and a half months ago, I thought the cig-alike was such a cool thing, it was fun faking people out and smiling as they freaked out and then tell them it was an e-cig. I was pretty happy till I found myself spending more time charging it than using it. I found this site and I ended up with a KGO set. I was in vape heaven. I thought I dont need those giant tube things, who wants to be seen with something like that out and about. But they sure looked nice, being a lover of all things stainless steel.
Again, I found a few minor limitations, mostly esthetically. I found having to fill up a carto all time distracting. I actually found myself needing to charge them up couple times a day. All the accessories were also looking a bit top heavy; phiniac tanks, triple-v tanks, and also found that the voltage kept dipping as I used them and performance was lacking. I feel in love with the Super-T precise, but the price. I couldnt justify the price.
Looked into the Bolt, but read alot of threads regarding the switches and wireing having to be re-soldered. Not difficult, but did I really want to buy a soldering unit? I saw the Silver Bullet, way to big and clunky. Saw its little brother, the BB but the power was not much better than the KGO. Saw the Chuck nice, but for the price didnt think it was not much better made than the bolt, but definitely much better built, a LOT. I waited , searched for something well built but not wallet breaking. Simple to use, not too much tinkering.
I finally ordered a new MOD. Im waiting for it to come in, and of course besides it being solid, mechanical, rugged, tuff, extremely safe and well built and made in the US,but most important; It comes in BLACK, all black no chrome, bit of stainless, just a "touch" for accents. Cant wait, and I will let you all know if there is a difference in a more expensive battery container. Its a 3.7 v, with 18650 2000 mah batteries.
