APVs & Summer Time Heat+Humidity

I checked over some past threads and didn't really see anything concerning this topic. If it has been touched upon already and I missed the thread, I apologize.

I currently have a Vamo V5. It was a good choice for me as a first VV/VW mod for the money. So far, I am completely happy with it however I want to know how this particular mod will hold up during the summer time months if I were to say, bring it with me to the beach as an example.

I'm from New Jersey and if you've ever been down the shore here over the summer, it's like a sauna outside depending on the month. Reason tells me to leave it home because it's made of metal, (I own the stainless steel version for cosmetic reasons) the batteries probably won't like the heat or humidity (even if they are in say my gf's purse or something) and to perhaps bring something cheaper as I do own a 1300 mAh Spinner and typical eGo 1100s. Nevertheles I wanted a more experienced perspective on this particular scenario.

What is your take on bringing the Vamo out during that time of year in those conditions?

If you suggest not bringing it out during more hot and humid months, is there a mod that has been known to function well regardless of the type of weather?

I ask because I want to buy an all around awesome and very reliable VV/VW mod such as a ProVari or a plain VW mod such as an Innokin iTaste 134 mini, or perhaps something with both output settings and all the other bells and whistles.

Whatever advice or suggestions you can provide I will really appreciate. Thank you in advance.

I agree with H Niemand. It's not only your batteries you need to be concerned about. The heat can effect the pressure in your tank if you are using tanks and can cause leaking. A SS mod would probably be the worse to take along because it will absorb the heat faster than plastic or wood mods and the humidity could do nasty things to your electronics. It's best to keep it in a ziplock baggy in your cooler. I don't think there is a mod available that could withstand that kind of heat and humidity.

I live in California and I use my APVs all the time. Even when I'm out and about, they are usually in my purse or pocket, never had a problem. However, I never leave them in the car during summer months where the interior temperature can quickly reach above 100 degrees. I don't let them sit outside for a long time in the hot sun either. That said, we don't have the humidity problems here like you guys do.

If you plan on being outside in sweltering heat (and no shelter) for hours, bring your lesser battery with you. But other than that you should be fine. Just keep them as cool and protected as possible.
