Are AW 18490 16.5A rating for continuous or pulse?

I heard that the 16.5A might be its pulse rating. But most sellers seem to have it labeled as its continuous rating.

And is there anything better in a 18490/18500?

Efest has some but I heard their MAH ratings are lower then listed. And they switch pulse/burst with the continuous rating.

IIRC, the current rating on all AW batteries is CONTINUOUS.....
In my Reos I use AW 18650's and 18490's...BUT I don't sub-ohm (1.2 micro coils here....!)
Stay ABOVE .4 ohm and you should be good to go!!

I have in my notes that the the AW IMR 18490 1100mAh battery should be able to handle 16.5 Amp. But I also noted that C rating was 8 Amp.

I arrived at this information using:

1. Max. continuous discharge rate of 15C (as was stated on both the Lighthound and RTDVapor websites.
2. Using a Battery Amp Limit Calculator

I put a note to myself to check with ECF member Baditude as I have never seen anyone else use this calculator and I have not done any more research to verify this information myself. And neither should you.

I use 18490/500 batteries almost exclusively. While they're not for serious sub ohm vaping, they're a very handy battery size.
The AW 18490 is 16a, and the Efest 18490/18500 is 8a.

My personal rule of thumb is to not exceed 50% of the amp rating.

Thank you Bad! I can now update my notes regarding this battery. I just purchased one about a week ago (along with a 18350 AW IMR 3.7v 700mAh) for use in my Nemesis when I want to use something a little smaller.

Just got my orbitronic 18650s today. they are in the charger now. From what Ive seen in tests they deliver really study current all the way through their voltage range. I will find out when they are charged. Im currently using the samsung 18650 and ive noticed they drop off a bit when they loose just a little charge.
