Just purchased GS,and am happy with product. The amount of vapor and flavors are good. The problem comes in when I look @ refilling. I have always been a DIYer to save money, and usually get a better value.

After researching more into the world of vaping, I see that refilling is relatively easy to do, however, it appears the system used in green smoke is not the 'ideal'? set up for e-liquids...

Has anyone had success with refilling GS cartridges?

Thanks

Greensmoke is KR808D-2 so it's incompatible with all of the KR808D-1 stuff unless you put an adapter on it. Natively you have Greensmoke and Red Dragon I think, and some blank cartos are at AZSmokeFree and Vaporkings, but I do not know the quality of the blanks or even if they have soft-caps for easy filling. LeCig is the only place with adapters for KR808D-2 to use other stuff. D2 to D1 would let you use KR808D-1 cartos on Greensmoke.

The more popular model is KR808D-1. Some KR808D-1 models are V4L (I use their manual batteries that list a custom 10+ second cutoff), plain manufacturer KR808D-1 (available at various vendors), and the rubberized models Bloogplanet, SmokelessImage and Halocigs G6. For KR808D-1 blanks I prefer the V4L WOW cartos (use delrin or plastic drip tip as a cool mouthpiece) and the Bloogplanet/SmokelessImage cartos (cooler at lip end due to horizontal coil). And slim KR808D-1 can use any single coil 2.5 to 3 ohm KR808D-1 cartomizers and well as standard resistance DSE901 atomizer (use drip tip on atomizer only on manual batteries)

I can still return this GS setup...So, what is a good setup for a vaper DIY beginner?

return it...now!

i also started with greensmoke. i won't go through the list of problems and inferior products, but suffice it to say the list is lengthy. i am now a happy vapor. when i purchased greensmoke without first doing any research, i was underwhelmed. maybe i shouldn't be bashing GS, but i after giving vaping another shot after the GS experience, i've been analog free for a week and have only had two cravings for real tobacco. when i was using the GS product, i was constantly in nic withdrawal... some people may like the product, but it wasn't for me.

Edit: Also, the problem may have been with my lack of knowledge. I was using the prefilled cartomizers....

I agree with both Hounds and hairball. Return it I had an Ego first then a Kgo, and the Kgo I like a lot better. I've now moved on th a Lavatube which I like better than both of those but the kgo is still my backup. also find what flavor juices you like then start venturing into DIY juices if you really want to save money.

I would have to disagree. I've been an e-cig user for a while and I've used quite a few different brands. Hands down the best one I've found has been Green Smoke.

While other brands might be cheaper, they're also much harder to use. Manually refilling the cartridge was no fun. I got e-liquid everywhere when I was refilling, and it was messy. I had to throw out a $75 shirt because I dropped the e-liquid bottle on it and stained the entire thing. Very frustrating.

The 2-piece design is much easier to use and GS's cartomizers last the longest of all the e-cig brands the I've tried.
I've also had problems with Green Smoke products, ones that almost made me stop using them. But I've found their customer service to be incredibly helpful. They'll bend over backwards to help. Give them a call, they do their best to please.

DON'T listen to anyone telling you to use a mod. Just last week it was all over the news that someone was using a mod in Florida and the battery blew up in his face. It knocked out his front teeth and burned away half his tongue.

Good luck!

Just out of curiosity, why don't more people just pull the cap off to refill these things? Condoms, syringes, spinning, messy juices, it all seems like a huge headache. I don't own a GS but a buddy does and when he asked me how to refill I just popped the cap off in 2 seconds and dropped from the top. I've been filling my SmokeStik like this for over a year without issues. Am I missing something?

Just out of curiosity what brands have you tried. I'm interested in what you are comparing GS with.

Most of us do refill but there are other brands that sell pre-filled carts. Have you tried:

Vapor4Life

We don't know what he was using. It's all speculation. The only types of explosions that we know of are mods with stacked batteries. That's an entirely different animal and has little to do with the suggestions made on this thread. On other hand there is no such thing as a safe lithium battery.

No, you're not missing anything. I have always refilled my cartos by the drop from the top. It's easy and takes very little time. Syringes make me nervous and the condom method is too messy.
