Are my nic levels too high? Or is it the pg percentage?

I'm on full day 2 with my Riva and having a bit of trouble w/ my vaping experience. I was a pack and a half a day smoker, and was advised to get a couple 18mg juices, and a 24mg to see what I preferred. Now I understand it's only been two days, and it may take some getting used to...but both nic levels seem to just *hurt* when I inhale. It takes my breath away when I get the throat hit, and not in a good way. I got my juices from BWB (18mg strawberry, 18mg 555, 24mg spearmint) whose juices are 70/30 pg/vg mix.

Here's my dilemma....I need to order more juice, b/c the spearmint is the only flavor I really like so far but it's also the highest nic level, and the TH is just too much for me. What do I do? Do I go with lower nic levels? If so, how much lower? Or do I opt for more vg percentage - or 100% vg? (I really wouldn't mind more vapor...would actually prefer more vapor, which I understand vg creates)

Thanks for any input/advice...not ordering juice until I get an idea of what I need to look for and what I need to avoid. My throat just can't take this punishment, and I REALLY don't wanna go back to analogs *haven't smoked since I fully-charged my Riva and slapped on the first carto* so I know I can do this...

For me 70/30 is a good percentage for me. While many suggest going up in nic, I did the opposite. I would rather vape more & get less nic on each hit. That is how I quit. And so My suggestion is to suggest a 12 mg juice. Spearmint will provide more th than other juices, but if that is what you like, stick with it.

Best wishes!!

VG has way less TH

My cuzz a 2 pack a day camel smoker chokes on PG based juice but has much less coughing/hacking with the VG based juice
(he's also a direct inhaler)

I can vape 48mg PG juice and feel like it's weak unless I vape at 5v
(I draw into the mouth and the inhale)

go ahead and try some 100% VG juice to see if it helps, you may even have some kind of allergy to PG...some people do.

Miss,

You could always pick up some 100% VG at any Walmart and dilute the 24mg some to make it smoother. It's brand is "Humco" and it's sold by the band aids, calamine lotion aisle.

And I would order it in several strengths. It's hard to know what your body will need in the beginning. If you start jonesing, it's nice to have a higher strength juice to fall back on. I started at 16mg and used a 24 mg in emergency situations:)

What you describe has happened to many new vapers and may have nothing to due with either PG or your nic level. Vaping does take getting use to. The vapor is dryer than smoke. If you are inhaling directly into your lungs, this can cause some of that initial chest discomfort also. Most of us inhale into the mouth and then slowly into the lungs.

Okay, so I've changed my inhale method - already can tell a difference, it's much more pleasant - and oddly enough, the flavor seems stronger (?) Thanks for the tips guys - getting a sampler from the vapor room, gonna stick with 18mg, but going with 50/50 pg/vg ratio, and going to get some VG from walmart for any juices that still seem a bit too harsh. Sound good?
