Are Starter Kits a good idea?

Thanks, I imagine I will.
The main thing I'll miss about snusing all the time is just that initial hit when the juice first starts flowing. Grown attached to the powerful indicator of impending nicotine. But I still plan on buying it for use during my long classes and bus rides, unless these ecigs destroy the entire allure for me(hopefully)!
In regards to the power toggle for the spinners and such: Is the extra money worth the toggle? I'm fine with just taking two hits instead of one, or a big hit, for the desired effect. Is the price mostly for the battery life alone? Or does it make a hit more like one from a cigar?
As long as I have two working batteries, battery life isn't much of an important factor for me since I'll just be vaping at home. Was even considering one of those wired-to-the-USB models for that reason but I'm not always on the laptop.

Spinners and Twist have a dial on the bottom that allows you to change the voltage, this allows you to make adjustments in order to get a vape you like better. It comes in handy, most fixed voltage devices run at a low voltage, around 3.3 to 3.7, I rarely vape below 4.0 volts. With VV you can turn up the voltage to produce more vapor, flavor, throat hit. Spinners/Twist can be set anywhere between 3.3 and 4.8 volts.

Battery life is also greatly improved, Volt has 150 MAH, Spinner goes up 1300 MAH. General rule of thumb, each 100 MAH equals one hour of vaping time, this is very general though. You may get 30 minutes from 150 MAH, or 3 hours.

I wouldn't worry about still using the snus, just don't do it and vape at the same time, don't want nic overload. I think you'll be fine, if you want to upgrade later, we'll be here to answer questions. Good luck.

As with any major purchase, do your homework first. I personally regret buying a starter kit when I got into vaping. I felt like since I had chargers and cases for a certain style that I had to stick with that style and for the most part the same company. It me over a year and half to realize that there were much better and more affordable options out there that I had never looked into and now regret how much money I spent on inferior products.

In my opinion starter kits are not the way to go unless you can load your own juice and then there is the question of battery life. starter kits like the Ritchy ERA come with pre-filled cartomizers, so you have to like the juice in those carts. You could buy an empty 510 carto and fill w/ any juice you want but battery life then becomes the next issue. Also, the empty 510 carts are filled with cotton (I think! if someone can correct me, that would be great). If you want to use silica wick or ekowool, you may not be able to find starter kits or empty carts that use those materials.

I just bought a ego ce4 starter kit with 2 1100mah batteries,2 refillable clearamizers and a charger. 3 days in and i love it so far..I did a TON of research before i pulled the trigger on it though. I would recommend making sure whatever battery you get is 510 threaded, there seem to be more options for tanks with the 510 thread (is this correct?)

This is true. I bought two starter kits, both were expensive and fairly pointless.
However, an eGo starter kit and a cig-a-like starter kit are two different propositions.

It's lucky the O.P. didn't fall into the "was $79.99, now $29.99" trap. This marketing B.S. is catching so many newbies out.

Ask 10 vapers about starter kits and you get 12 recommendations :)

But don't get too stingy on the starter kit. It doesn't have to be the hyper hi-end gadgetry, but decent eGo-threaded batteries , a clearomizer and/or cartomizer, a USB-charger is all it needs to find out whether vaping does it for you or not. Had couple of friends that started out with disposables and were mostly disappointed with them. Guess they are better suited for the occasional (ex-)smoker. With Snus hitting at 24mg, disposables are unlikely to do the trick for you either...

This, in all honesty, is what worries me the most about this whole thing. I figure that at any rate, as I'll be home I'll be craving less(not as antsy), so the ecig should suffice. The added weight to it too is the whole, you know..Saving money thing. As you might tell by my low end budget, that's a pretty big deal to me!
