Nick had a 3rd shift job at one time back a couple moves ago..don't know about now. I've not heard him refer to himself in celebrity terms though. Referring to viewers as fans and talking about signing autographs is a turn off for me.
Grimmgreen very honestly stated in his last video that companies had offered him cash for reviews.... I tend to believe him I think...

Taste preferences are totally subjective. That's why I don't watch online flavor reviews or spend much time in the e-liquid Sub-Forum. For me, its a waste of time.

Agreed. I also don't buy juice from sites with abstract descriptions like "inhale will remind you of a visit to grandma's and the exhale will take you back to a childhood winter wonderland!" Really, so you are selling something that reminds me of Ben Gay and old peppermints?

Real honesty would come from people willing to give or "sponsor" a person regardless if they like the product or not and the willingness to accept the review.
I'd want to discuss this in-depth with my son, because he has more knowledge on the dynamics of it, but it's fair to bet that most of the big-name reviewers mentioned have a revenue-generation agreement through YT based on view counts. In turn, the manufacturers can also add in payments based on view counts. This creates the scenario where the reviewer is beholden, in one way or another, to someone if they want to get paid for their efforts.

I don't recall seeing any reviews by the "big names" where they said out-right "this thing is a piece of crap". Only a few where they've had concerns or were critical of particular aspects of a device.

It's usually not good to bite the hand(s) that feed you.

That is true, but I was just answering to the ops questions on what my thought was. Hence why I am not a reviewer of such things, especially when it comes to juice. I DIY and have come to liking of my own over any ejuice out there as taste is subjective. It does come down to it if they want to get paid for it. Marketing.......

Just find one that doesn't get into the BS drama and shows you the product clearly....it is your job to make up your own mind if something is good for you or not, not the reviewers
Right, but a jump-list is very helpful to get the content out of the show.
I traveled too much roads, i don't need videos to know the difference between clouds and fog.
After work, i really don't need a red or green juice-bottle in the camera, to remind me, that my fence needs some colour.
In a gear-video a jump-list is a fact of honor, with the juice i'm almost in the wrong shoes.

Are there any honest reviewers?

Maybe. But it's irrelevant to me, and here's why.

First, I'll talk about e-liquid reviews, which I don't watch. With all due respect to those that do them, I really don't care what you like or don't like, my tastebuds get the final word.

Now, as to devices, whether they be mechs, mods, atomizers, wicks, wires, tools, of one type or another, I watch the videos simply to SEE the device up close and personal before I shell out $200. I want to see it in action. I want to see a build on it. I want to see it run through its paces.

I'll also get on the forum and Reddit to see what the chatter is.

And I don't just watch ONE review. Before I bought my KF4, I must have watched well over a dozen videos before making the final decision. I think the Squape R had been out for close to a YEAR before I bought mine (in the classifieds here on the forum, of course).

Now, there are some reviewers that are better than others at pointing out the pluses and minuses of equipment, and those I tend to pay attention to a bit more than the others. Some reviewers I can turn the volume off on and just watch what's going on.

i saw that to..it was funny...he was NOT enjoying that build ! loved when he said "F that" lol
Considering his brutal review after posting a video about his trip to Joyetech's factory... now that's what I call without fear or favour.

I liked him a lot as a reviewer. He was honest as the day is long. Wow, he doesn't even have ...his own e-juice line.
Seems to me that Pbusardo hinted about a juice line a few months ago...He did say it would be "different" though. Even showed some mixing gear off. I'd be interested in seeing what that's all about. Busardo is one of only a few who have earned my trust . Fagan, Mike Vapes and Brian from the vapor chronicles have lost all semblance of vape world credibility imho. Just b-side commentary to fill the blank spaces.

Pbusardo as well, followed by igetcha69 and Matt from "suck my mod". For German reviews, Obis dampfersofa and navy-lifeguard who are both extremely thorough. Navy seems to have been fairly inactive for some time however.

I do watch others, but mostly to get closer looks at the gear. I don't care about juice reviews at all.

Yeah man , that is what it takes to get and maintain total respect in the world of reviewers .

Calling it exactly the way you see it is not something many people feel comfortable with doing and you CANNOT be a great and respected reviewer if you can't do that.

I have only watched a handful of reviews. I liked Richard NG when I saw his. I rather see the pics and reviews in RTA/RDA threads on this forum.
Damn, I forgot my very own Malaysian reviewer. Yeah, he's cool. Diplomatic about what he doesn't like but he is pretty balanced.
