Are there customs fees/issues with US orders?

I usually don't make large purchases from HC, but was going to make a $300+ order. I don't want to have to pay again when the package arrives. Is there usually a fee or a problem with larger orders?

We have not hear of a customs problem with 300 usd orders via DHL in USA so far.

but we are not sure whether there is a fee for 300 USD order there.

i order like that too and as of yet I have not been hit with any customs fees if that helps.
