... Are we who vape, part of a huge defacto clinical trial? Can we anticipate health problems, 20 years from now? ...

Yes... We are all part of a Mass Clinical Trial.

But if is any Consolation to you, I Would Not have made it another 20 Years Smoking Cigarettes.

As above, I am 67 and so "long term" is a relative description. I gave up stinkies for 14 years after 35 years of smoking. I was unable to live a happy comfortable life even with prescribed drugs and took the option of a short happy life. vaping will make it a longer happy life. I am kind of proud of being a " lab rat", the rats have had all the glory for toooo long.

I'd rather think of myself as a rhesus monkey. In 20 years something bad may turn up but I probably won't know about it.

I agree with you...I'm 65:blink:

Lol I'm 53, heck I will second that....................
At least we have a better chance now of making it there.

Thanks guys for all your replies.

I enjoy vaping as much, if not more, than I did smoking. Was never really a heavy smoker (1/2 pack a day at most), still vaping has lots of benefits: Flavor choices, money savings, freedom, etc.

I spoke with someone the other day, who says they smoke only 1 or 2 cigarrettes a day, who asked me about my PV. In his case, don't think vaping would save him a lot of money. And the health risks would be far less substantial vs say a 2 pack-a-day smoker. He said he used to smoke more, but has been cutting back.

Some people do manage to cut back.......very few are able to keep it there. I've done that many times but invariably I've gone back up to that pack-a-day habit. Let your friend know that if the worse happens, or if he feels like it may, you will be more than happy to give him info should he decide to go the ecig route. Even if you only direct him to ECF, that would be a nice stepping stone.

As stated by others, there is likely some health issues related to vaping but the evidence so far has proven to be extremely minimal compared to vaping. Although it is fairly new, so are most of the pharmaceutical drugs that are taken in the name of medicine? Who knows what the long term affects of someone on new antidepressent, ADD or other prescriptions.

In addition, I am more worried about the air quality of the city I live in. Sitting on the freeway for 2 hours each day with exhaust from vehicles and blowing dust advisories has to be awful on respiratory functioning. In any event, I spent 10 years putting poison into my lungs, I'm sure they are thanking me for changing my habits.
