In fact, not understanding ohms law and battery safety while using a regulated mod is extremely dangerous.
Eh? How?
Ohms Law doesn't even matter on a regulated device and using the right batteries for your power output is the same for regulated and mech.
Also, I don't get the "car comparisons" that always pop up, I really don't. Especially the ones that compare a family middle class car to an old muscle car. You don't really think you can push more power with a mech then the current 2-3-4 battery regulated mods? We aren't living in 2013 anymore where you had to use a Mech to get over 15 Watts.
I see where people are coming from with the durability, looks and no nonsense approach, but lets not pretend Mechs are superior in aspects where they clearly are not, like safety and power output.

I bought a Mech some time ago, just to have one and see what its like. Frankly, the vape didnt feel any different then on a regulated on a comparable power level. But hey, that's subjective.

Just because everyone here knows that you need a 25A battery to safely run a single battery regulated mod at 75w when your battery is close to 3.2v does not mean that all vapers know this. There are plenty of vapers out there running ultrafire batteries in their mods. There are also vapers with no clue of the importance of keeping your wraps intact, especially at the positive end, or as we've all seen, not to keep spare batteries loose in your pocket.

Battery safety is important for everyone.

I don't see how you got the impression I am ignorant to battery safety when I wrote this: using the right batteries for your power output is the same for regulated and mech.
General battery safety is not an issue of regulated vs Mech. But you know that. :)
Right, take a look again, that's exactly what Bad Ninja was saying. Battery safety is important for mech AND regulated mod users.

Hey,

I'm using unregulated series box mods only since one year now. I know my gear.
Why? I like to build for a hot, dense vape and I think nothing hits you more with fresh batteries installed.
The fact that my mod fires every single time by pressing the button makes me not wanting a regulated device in the near future. On the other hand, if your mod won't fire when you hit that button, you know instantly that you messed up badly.

Wow, I wasn't expecting so many responses!
Thanks guys, It's interesting to see why so many people like mechs, I started using a nemesis clone just over a year ago and grew to love it after tinkering with it a bit. My daily driver is a Ruby 24 now any I only use regulated when i'm chilling at my desk or messing around with juice tasting.
For me its the sheer simplicity of a mech, not to mention I find all the cleaning and maintaining strangely therapeutic :)

I normally use a VW box mod, but for short trips in the car and to the store, etc, I bring a little 17mm wide Mini Nemesis mech mod which uses a 14650 battery ... On top I have a 17mm wide rebuildable Mini Fogger RTA.

The 14650 battery in the Mini Nemesis only can handle 5 amps continuous, so I limit myself to a 1.2 ohm single Kanthal 27 wire guage coil.

Since we have 1.2 ohms in the coil, when the battery is at full charge (3.9 - 4.0 volts) the coil gets 12.7 watts and only draws 3.2 amps of power which is fine for this little 14650 battery.

BTW ... I mouth to lung vape, so a fairly tight airflow and 12.7 max watts is perfect for me.

I really like this little setup when I go out for awhile, and it is not heavy. Also fits nicely in a front shirt pocket.

I use mechs cause they're sexy. and we all know that appearance is EVERYTHING.

I dropped my glas clone with bushido RDA into about 10 inches of gas today. a thorough cleaning and a quick rebuild and she's back to working. better than before actually cause she needed cleaned anyways. I'm EXTREMELY rough on my stuff. (like constant 12 foot drops, gasoline baths, and all around abuse). never had one break yet.

favorite builds depend on the mod/atty. right now i'm running a dual 2mm ID 8 wrap SS coil. .35 ohms

Iv never seen a mech spontaneously combust because its on board charger decided it wanted to go belly up and start a fire. “It's not what you don't know that kills you, it's what you know for sure that ain't true"- Mark Twain.

You either understand craft, or you don`t. And most that don`t usually appreciate abstract art, go figure. LOL.

Craft is my life, so of course Iv got more mechs than I can count. And one regulated, ha, ha.
