Still wouldn't have done me any good. That PC could only take 4gb ram, which wasn't enough even with XP Pro; knowing Windows, I was pretty sure that 4gb was the *starting* figure for what ram it needed. And it had very very little video ram, so watching videos was painful in the extreme. Now I have an i5 laptop with 16gb ram and lots of vid ram, and everything works as it ought to -- and dual displays is SWEET -- I can keep ECF on one all the time, and whatever else I'm doing on the other.

and I love Win 8.1 -- wasn't about to upgrade windows until there was a .1 release, I learned my lesson with that back with DOS 4.0.

When DOS 5.0 came out, I waited till it was 5.1.
