I believe a lot of it has to do with the use of language. How often do you see...

"I have upgraded..."
"I progressed..."
"That's a great beginner's set up."
"That would be a great mod, you'll have room to grow as you advance."

As though vaping has a strict linear progression from cheap, starter devices through "intermediate" tootle-puffing equipment and on the the DESTINATION of *insert something that's not tootle puffing*.

Even the concept of journey feeds into this. Although it does have a nod to the idea that each journey is different, there is still the concept of progression. As though vaping has some kind of ultimate goal that can never be pinned down. The condescension may not always be intended, but may be a side effect of the language we use.

You nailed it, Kivrin. (can I call you Kirvin? I misread it each and every time.)

And the journey, as it were, is also a by-product of the language, the thoughts, and the ideas. There has always been a progression to bettering the vape, to chasing the mythical unicorn, and to "advancing" to the fabled destination. Just as we see the symbiotic relationship between language and the journey, so do the manufacturers who create our products. They create what they think we want. And from that, in essence, this thread was born. I saw so many changes in vape gear, that it simply led me to wonder if I was alone on an island with my vape style.

Turns out there was quite the crowd on that island!

And because Journey has now come up in THREE separate incidents this morning......;)

Most of the time I actually rebuild them at 1.8 ohm so I can use them on all my batteries no matter which.

I stayed at 1.8Ω for a very long time, and was very happy with it. When I got a Magma, I built it a little lower when I found that the tightest airflow setting was just a little more open than my usual setting on my Kayfun -- and found I actually liked it better, so I opened all my kayfuns up just a tiny bit more than they were, and started building all my coils around 1.5Ω. There isn't a huge difference in the amount of vapor, maybe just a smidge more, but there does seem to be a real improvement in flavor, which is mostly what I'm after. :thumb:

I try and only drink soda made with real sugar, no corn syrup.... So lately it's been pepsi
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

+1^^^ When I drink soda, it's usually Mexican Coke or Schweppes Tonic from the EU. If I'm going sweet, give me sugar. Ain't nothing like the real thing, baby...

I am a sweet tea girl all day long. I was once addicted to Mt Dew, worst thing I ever tried to quit

I'm on the tea wagon myself. I like it best with lemon though and those things have gotten expensive!
I keep a bottle of RealLemon because no one else in my house likes lemon tea.
