Naah did not make it over there. But am vaping it here in eastern Clark county. You have a good nose. going to order a 30 ml bottle of CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl next time I order more flavors.
Dang, must be the bakery over on Southland tricking my super senses

Hey, you guys, I have a Newbie Tootle Puffer question. Please bear with me, as I try to explain my thinking, using less than "perfect" vaper language.

I just ordered that X6 as my new binkie, and it comes with a Protank clone, plus I ordered a real Protank 2 as well. Both the clone and the Protank 2 use the same coils I'm using with my EVOD and mini Protank tanks, with 2.5 ohm single coils. I was thinking this was a good thing, because I don't have to keep a separate set of coils and heads for the new tanks on the new binkie.

HOWEVER, Rich was just tootling on that Butterbeer with his iStick 30 which has an Aspire tank and 1.8 ohm BVC coils. He set it at 13 watts and the flavor was AMAZING! I had a couple puffs off his, and didn't want to give it back! LOL! Then he turned his down to where my little 3.7 volt EVOD battery is, and I tried that, and there was NO FLAVOR. Well, a teeny bit, but nothing like the way he had it set previously.

So my question is, can I get the same performance (13 watts, I guess?) from that X6? I know some of you have those, so I'm hoping you'll know. Do I need different coils? Or can I get the same result by just adjusting the voltage a bit? I feel like now that I know what I COULD be getting, flavor-wise, I WANT IT. It might never be possible with the EVODs, and that's fine, but could it be possible with the X6? Anybody know?

I have a sister yet my mom knew since I was a little kid that I was a loner. Any time a bunch of drama and commotion was going on, my sister was always at the center of it while I was always off all by myself playing with my toys quietly.

My mom is, was, and always will be the Drama Queen in any home she inhabits. I got tired of all that drama at a very tender age, but it didn't stop her from inflicting it on me.

Consequently, after our son was born, if there were ever any disciplinary issues, I tended to handle them very casually -- "Oh, BTW, you're grounded -- If you're going to make noise like that, go to your room and make it -- I won't tell you not to cry, I'll just tell you not to do it IN HERE." :D I can't think of a single instance that a "Family Conference" was required, except maybe once when we were very concerned about his grades and failing some classes. We tried to eliminate drama. :D Having a son instead of a daughter helped a lot with that.

To get 13 watts with a 2.5 ohm coil you would need 5.7V.

OK, and the X6 only goes up to 4.2 volts, so I'd need a different coil, then, correct? I'll have to pick Rich's brain, what's left of it, and see what he says.

I actually put my tank on his iStick at 13 watts, and it burned the crap out of it. It didn't destroy the coil, but it was NASTY. So I think I need different coils if I want better flavor. These little 3.7 volt EVOD 650s for some reason, only perform well for me with the 2.5 ohm coils. Or, I should say, the 2.5 ohm coils are the only ones that perform well on these batteries. I know everyone told me the 1.8 ohm ones should be just fine, but I guess I'm weird - I couldn't get either flavor or vapor out of it. That's why I gave those Aspire tanks to Rich, because they wouldn't work on my baby batteries.

However, 13 watts won't necessarily work well with your tanks. Did you try them on the iStick or just take a hit off his Aspire tank?

ETA: Looks like we posted at the same time. :D

That would be really tricky, Lannie. You'd have to get <1.4Ω coils to get it up to 13 watts. (1) I don't think they make stock heads in that low a resistance. (2) Even if they did (or if Rich rebuilt some for you), it probably wouldn't be safe to use with your X6. Even if you could get it to work, it would put a strain on the battery, as it wasn't meant to put out that much current. It probably wouldn't blow up in your face - it would just stop working after awhile. :2c:

Maybe try the 1.8Ω coils? I used to build my Evod heads to that for my Spinners and got by with that for a really long time.

Well, after further rumination (and mind you, Rich and I haven't had an in depth discussion about this yet, so...) I'm thinking that just because 13 watts was good on HIS binkie, it doesn't mean I need that much on MY binkie! LOL! I was just comparing the flavor between HIS tank on HIS mod set at both wattages, and that won't give a fair comparison when used on mine. I'll just fiddle with it when it gets here, and see what works best. I think there's 3.6 volts, 3.8 volts, and 4.2 volts on the X6 that I can choose from. One of those, with my 2.5 ohm coils, should be just fine, don't you think?

Theoretically, yes, but your X6 handles power a little differently than his iStick. But definitely worth a shot!
I remember my juice tasting burnt when I went up that high on my Spinners. There were some flavors that I couldn't vape (like white chocolate) until I switched to mechs. On my Spinners and Evods they would just burn up immediately (literally - the juice would turn black), even when I used 2.4Ω heads - actually, they burned up no matter what resistance/power combo I tried. But so weird, they work really well with my RTAs and mechs.

Morning Lannie there are lots of quick calculators that can calculate it for you. I use this one and if I plug in 13w plus 4.2 voltage it shows you would need a coil of about 1.35 you can build that and your x6 might fire it. The coils would heat up very quickly so try a rebuild in your evod around 1.4 or 1.5 and see what you think.

To put it bluntly, no you can not.

I know exactly how it is Lannie. I spent around nine months vaping on Ego,s and protanks and loved them, until I tried the next step and once you do there is no going back. After hearing all the hype about Kayfuns I had to try one and ever since then the Ego's and protanks just dont measure up for me anymore. I vaped that kayfun on a vision spinner II and it was great but the vision didnt last long and Ego batteries didnt do it justice so I got a Clouper and was in Vape heaven.
It gets worse Lannie. I tried kanger subtanks mini's and now the kayfuns I have just dont really cut it anymore. I tried one of my Ego's with a CE5 the other day and it was like getting a small drop of orange juice versus the whole glass with the subtank mini. Now I am using my Ego batteries (I had over 30 of them) and some of the CE5's I have and making kits to give away to people who want to try vaping. I even gave away a kayfun to a friend so she can enjoy it.

I was just about to say don't turn that head up to 13 W. The 2.5 ohm coil at 4.2 V will give you 7 W which should be pretty good

Dang. So sorry, Lannie. When you were asking for mod advice, I typed up this really long post explaining that it might be a good time to upgrade, but then I chickened out and deleted it all, since I'm kinda new here and it didn't seem to be what you guys were used to. If I had posted it, I probably coulda talked you into your very own iStick.

On my Spinners and Evods, what worked out best for me was 1.8Ω coils at ±3.8V.
