OK, so what you're telling me is I should NEVER try any juice on Rich's iStick! As long as I don't know how good it COULD be, I won't miss it! Problem is, I had a couple hits of that Butterbeer, and now I'm going to be hard pressed not to sneak some when he's sleeping.

In the meantime, maybe I'll get some 1.8 ohm coils, if they'll go in my existing tanks, and use those with the new binkie. With the 1.8s, it should go to 9.8 watts if it's turned up to 4.2 volts. Or so that nifty calculator tells me. Thanks, Krisma! I've bookmarked that one. Oh, Boden, I just saw your post. You think 7 would be good? I think it's at 5-something now.

And I will sit here despondently sniffing the air while Rich enjoys his Butterbeer in front of me. Waaaaahhhhhh! Maybe in a while, when I'm ready to go to something square, I'll get an iStick, too.

LOL! You guys are posting before I can finish typing! Cindycated, that's going to be my next step, I'm sure, and I COULD have opted for one this time, and had seriously considered it, but I'm *still* not quite ready for square yet. Soon, maybe. :) For right now, I'll enjoy my round purple binkie (when it gets here), and I have some flavors that are AWESOME in the tanks I'm using on the EVODs now, so those will still be good.

Well, after further rumination (and mind you, Rich and I haven't had an in depth discussion about this yet, so...) I'm thinking that just because 13 watts was good on HIS binkie, it doesn't mean I need that much on MY binkie! LOL! I was just comparing the flavor between HIS tank on HIS mod set at both wattages, and that won't give a fair comparison when used on mine. I'll just fiddle with it when it gets here, and see what works best. I think there's 3.6 volts, 3.8 volts, and 4.2 volts on the X6 that I can choose from. One of those, with my 2.5 ohm coils, should be just fine, don't you think?

~Lannie
My little clicker VV 650 ma batteries will put out 3.5, 3.7,3.9 or 4.1 volts. With 2 ohm evod coils I vape at 3.7 volts. Not sure if you can use that but just though I would throw it out.
also I get burned flavor on my 2 ohm 32 ga coils at 3.9 volts.
I am using cotton wicking.

To put it bluntly, no you can not.

I know exactly how it is Lannie. I spent around nine months vaping on Ego,s and protanks and loved them, until I tried the next step and once you do there is no going back. After hearing all the hype about Kayfuns I had to try one and ever since then the Ego's and protanks just dont measure up for me anymore. I vaped that kayfun on a vision spinner II and it was great but the vision didnt last long and Ego batteries didnt do it justice so I got a Clouper and was in Vape heaven.
It gets worse Lannie. I tried kanger subtanks mini's and now the kayfuns I have just dont really cut it anymore. I tried one of my Ego's with a CE5 the other day and it was like getting a small drop of orange juice versus the whole glass with the subtank mini. Now I am using my Ego batteries (I had over 30 of them) and some of the CE5's I have and making kits to give away to people who want to try vaping. I even gave away a kayfun to a friend so she can enjoy it.

I'm unfortunately finding the same thing about my kayfuns that I thought were just perfect -- but after a couple weeks of using my Achilles, I just don't really like the vape from my kayfuns anymore. Needless to say, this is distressing -- I have 4 kayfuns and only 2 Achilles!

For me what it has come down to is, once you get used to vaping without "splutter", then "splutter" becomes intolerable. :grr:

Believe me Lannie, I know what that transition is like! I had to walk around with a piece of copper plumbing pipe first, before I decided to switch to mechs!

My two favorite atties TODAY: Aqua V2 and Squape R. That changes frequently. Sometimes I'll vape on nothing but gennies.

On my Spinners and Evods, what worked out best for me was 1.8Ω coils at ±3.8V.

See, I couldn't get anything out of that combination. For some reason, with my 3.7 volts, I have to have 2.5 ohm coils, or I don't get either vapor OR flavor. Maybe I don't suck hard enough! ROFLMAO!

Robert, I'll play around with it when it gets here. I for sure don't want "burned" so if 4.2 volts is too high, I'll adjust it down. I just LOVED the way the Aspire tank draws, and the flavor that comes out of it, on Rich's iStick set at 13 watts. The Aspire tanks have 1.8 ohm coils (the ones I got for me that I didn't like). And on HIS iStick, it's perfect. Bunches of flavor, no burned taste.

Maybe the Aspires have 30 ga or larger coil wire? I dunno. Also I have 2 1/16 inch air holes drilled into the bases of my evods. Just putting in all the variables I can think of. I also get burned taste at 3.9 volts of 2.2 ohm silica genuine kanger coils which I had not rebuilt yet.

That's so weird. Usually you get more vapor (and for me, flavor) with lower resistance. Even now with my Kayfuns, I much prefer 0.7-0.9Ω to 1.2-1.5Ω. Lots more vapor and flavor, less sucking. When I was using 2.4Ω in my regular non-Spinner eGos, I wasn't getting anything. I bet you got a bad coil...

Lannie, something you can do to improve the taste using those EVODs is to drill out your air holes at the bottom of the tank. I did that with my t3s tanks (which are basically the same) and couldn't believe how improved the taste was. I started by just drilling out one hole with a 1/16" bit. Eventually I drilled out 2 holes in all of mine. I found that once I did that, I could vape at higher wattages and the flavor was vastly improved.

ETA: Looks like we were typing at the same time, Robert, and had the same idea. :D

You can send the kayfuns to me. I'm starting a retirement home for them, they'll be able to frolic in the grass, climb trees play with the dog etc. ;)

By any chance, are either of you only-children? In my own case, I learned to entertain myself, by myself, while still very young -- I love to read!! Being an only-child is not a prerequisite to being a loner -- my aunt is that way too, and she had 6 siblings! -- but it very often does prove to be true that loners learned to be that way as children.

I'm actually an oldest not an only lol. I was beyond shy and awkward at various points and at others convinced I genuinely couldn't count on anyone but myself. I've gotten over both thoughts at this point but still don't like a crowd and keep my "circle" small

In my vaping I have always believed that each Eliquid in a particular setup has its own sweetspot. Somethimes that's at 8w sometimes it's at 9w. That's a bit tricky when you are trying lots of different eliquids. I would play around before I upgraded. Find that sweetspot for the Eliquid you like and then once you have nailed it, go looking for upgrades in equipment.

Understanding you Eliquid is as important as understanding your vape gear.

My mom is, was, and always will be the Drama Queen in any home she inhabits. I got tired of all that drama at a very tender age, but it didn't stop her from inflicting it on me.

Consequently, after our son was born, if there were ever any disciplinary issues, I tended to handle them very casually -- "Oh, BTW, you're grounded -- If you're going to make noise like that, go to your room and make it -- I won't tell you not to cry, I'll just tell you not to do it IN HERE." :D I can't think of a single instance that a "Family Conference" was required, except maybe once when we were very concerned about his grades and failing some classes. We tried to eliminate drama. :D Having a son instead of a daughter helped a lot with that.

Andria
That's very much how our house was. My boys were low drama but my girls? I told them once that if I'd had girls first they wouldn't have brothers! I wouldn't trade any of my kids for anything on earth but my girls still wear me out.

....on an actual vape topic lol I need some help for little brother mine...he loves his ego one (don't look at me it's what he likes lol) but filling it's tank and not running it dry are issues for him .. what is out there that is just as idiot proof but with better tank visibility and not such a small area to fill? Maybe a diff tank that will run on it ok?

I was always fairly outgoing and gregarious, but self-conscious, with low self-esteem; as I entered adulthood, I emphasized the social traits and masked the self-consciousness and low self-esteem with alcohol among other things; attaining sobriety was for me a journey into my "real self" to discover that I had simply outgrown the need for constant company and sensation that I had adopted in young adulthood, and a return to that real self in reading and other solitary pursuits, and also with my new PC hobby -- and achieved something like normal self-esteem for the first time in my life, though it has wavered at times as I've fought depression.

I've never really had a "circle," and still don't. There's me, and my husband; that's really all the company I require. But online chatrooms and forums have enabled me to have some sort of social outlet, without needing to actually be around other people, with whom I've never fit very well. I found self-esteem mostly in recognizing that it was not necessary for me to do the impossible: be like other people. I never have been, and never will be, and nothing is served in beating myself up about it.

I saved that chart somewhere before, but couldn't find it today... thanks for reposting it, however, is there something wrong with it? Everyone's talking about 8 and 9 watts (or Rich with 13), and those are mostly (the 9s and above) in the red "too HOT" zone. And Robert thinks the safe (green) zone should be even narrower? I feel like I'm missing something. If it's something stupidly simple, just tell me to ask Rich. I'm sure he'll explain it to me, and I hate wasting your time 'splaining stuff that should be painfully obvious.

I don't (yet) want to get into building coils and all that, I just want to find a good combination of store-bought coils and a battery. I think, after reading what Linda said, that maybe I just need slightly bigger airholes. It could be THAT simple! This thing has a pretty tight draw on it, but since it's so close to the stinkies, I never really gave it any thought. Rich told me more air would probably make the flavors taste a bit better, PLUS not gunk my coils up so fast. Right now, this strawberry juice I made, which I'm using constantly right now, gunks my coil up in much less than a day. The brownie stuff does the same thing, but it's dark, so I'd expect it from that, but the strawberry is almost clear. I put a clean coil in there in the morning, and by afternoon, I'm having trouble with it and have to change out for a new one. I'm cleaning and dry burning my coils and wicks right now, so it's no big deal, but if I was having to BUY these things at the rate I'm going through them, we could never afford it. It would end up being more expensive than the smokes were.

Rich has a 1/16" drill bit, so I guess that will be the first thing we try. I just hope it works and I don't end up screwing up a perfectly good tank base. Well, if it does, I'm sure someone sells those, right?
