Well my tootle is puffed.

and 5 turns of 32 ga Kanthal on 3mm silica is a perfect silica wick for my Evods and my little button 3 push VV joy batteries.
I can do it cool or hot.

Mass production begins. The 1.8 factory coils suck.

I have some 2.2 factory coils on the way, will see how they turn out.

Now to refine my cotton coil building.

I can't do silica any more.... It mutes the flavor too much for me :p
Rayon or cotton will do you better, both have their own tricks and learning curves, both are worth the effort for the increase in flavor you will get. If you do want to try rayon, send a pm with mailing info, I can send a sample, I've got oodles of it :p

Thanks for the offer Cocatu, might take you up on it. Will try my cousin first and see if she has the rayon stuff. I will be a bit mastering the cotton on these little tootle, maybe by next weekend I will be ready to try rayon. I can always do a tampon coil :)

On the flavor, I have been trending towards less flavor lately. Doing a bit of non flavored juice.

But I am sure I will come back to the stronger flavor in a while. That is one of the great things about vaping so many possibilities.

got my ittty bitty drill bits out and going to play with airflow on one of my evods.... got a couple of extra bases on the way in case I mess up.

I see that white or silver Reo sittin there with the purple drip tip. :) Hope that one gets lots of love. If not......send it to me!

For my wicks, I'm personally using Japanese cotton I get from my local vape shop. 100% satisfied and it doesn't feel intimidating to buy. It's also much less horrid than regular cotton when it dry burns.

dunno what your vape shop charges, and most have probably seen these, but any who haven't....... KGD at 2 places 60 pads which will last forever 12.00 free shipping

One pad of Japanese cotton was $5 at a vape shop where I got mine. Easy to see why it was generically repackaged.

Just a bit of markup there.

I have been boiling organic cotton balls and combing them out which I find helps wicking to have the fibers aligned. I unroll the balls before boiling which helps a lot.

Just one batch boiled so far, just getting into experimenting with cotton wicks. I was using it for repacking 808 horizontal coil cartomizers. Worked fantastic for that.

Holy Cow!! that's insane, but I figured it was pricey at a vape store. I have heard of a few that will give you a pad to try, but not many. I just don't want to try rayon, I'm happy with the KGD, I don't taste anything, and now hearing about how rayon smells if it burns, killed any possible lingering thoughts of maybe I should try it.

With the KGD each pad is really like two. Cut in 1/2 against the grain, then cut wick with the grain, and one cut will wick a double coil so you know that both coils are wicked with identical thickness. Feed through one, pull it til you have just your short end left sticking out (however much you want), feed through the second, then cut both where you want them.

and no boiling

Bag of 10 = 5$ (they repackaged the bigger bags and kept the same price per unit, isn't they nice people?). I'm on my second square after about 6 months, I think. I don't really pay attention since all I have to do is drive 5 minutes to get some more a couple of years from now (I'm trying to get myself to re-wick more often...)

That's not a markup, that's backdoor rape with rusty barbwire!

I tried boiling cotton balls, but it made them unmanageably flat (might work to rebuild atty's, though). Instead, I boiled a test batch for 20 minutes and saw a lack of residue in the water, so I just used them straight out of the bag. I didn't like the fact that I had to test-fire about 10 times before putting the chimney on to get rid of the cotton taste, so I'm real happy I can get the Japanese stuff locally. Some people don't mind the taste of cotton, but I'm picky.

Try some INW Shisha Strawberry... :D  Guarantee you'll be rewicking a LOT more than you ever wanted... :D

Andria

I already have one juice that makes me rewick one of my Kay's every week.

I partly lied, I'm about to finish pad #3 since they gave me a free sample at the shop before I bought a bag. I also rebuilt my newest tank with their supplies when I bought it last week (kanthal, Japanese cotton and even juice. Isn't they really nice people?)

ooOOoo, a tightrope! :pervy:

All this tampon talk is making me associate "tootle" with something other than farts and men's dingdongs...
I thought it was just me that thought that from the first time Katya called me one. I never considered the other things until folks started bringin em up. That stuff turned me off to the name. :)
