I seen a water heater completely destroy a house in Phoenix a few years ago....the TPRV apparently didn't open when it overheated....through the roof she went.... landed on the neighbors roof, in pieces. They tore the house down about a month later.

But it HAS happened :p
Edit: In real life, not just myth busters :p

I don't argue it can't happen, I will argue though that you are more likely to win the power ball 3 times consecutively than have it happen though! :)

I think you agree with me in-spite of playing devil's advocate here unless you turn the breaker off or shut the gas valve off nightly on your water heater. ;)

We don't really see it as derogatory......but wanted to say Wahooooooo!!!!!!!! WTG!!! and welcome!!!

Not derogatory at all! Tootle puffers RULE!!!!!! :D

Wow.........so glad you woke up!! Angels were lookin out for y'all girl!! Also, have been meaning to say, I remember when you had to reset your counter.........it's so wonderful to see it inchin up on that 1 year mark!!!! You go g/f!!!

Believe me, I'm delighted about both. To be honest, I've always felt i was *led* to the whole idea of e-cigs. ;) I just checked the 'days' count... only 94 days until 365 smoke-free. :D :D :D

I like the expediency of gas, the safety of electric. I'd much rather cook on a gas stove. But yeah been seein more and more houses totally blow up.......that stinks.

Did you ever start an off-topic topic that just WILL NOT DIE? :D

I believe I heard the report on that particular incident and it had been found to have had a leaking relief valve removed and sealed with a cap hence disabling the safety designed to prevent such a mishap, then obviously it had a control failure too. Sounds like a real genius who takes good care of his appliances and own safety. :)

Don't disagree at all... In fact, that was sort of my point all along, these kinds of problems are not common, even with gas and or electric appliances, and the problems that do arise are themselves often avoidable with proper maintenance.

And let me add one more to that, any repairs done by "bubba" that are not to code and especially any that defeat ANY type of safety system originally designed into the system. :)

well, I had meant to quote Retired's post but reckin I didn't.......was glad to see the link removing was just a senior moment on Roly's part..... but haven't often wondered. I've read the rules, but never really understood what types of links needed to be broken. I don't know what affililate links or tracking links are. Since this is a thread likely to attract new folks, I thought this might be a good place to ask about it since it was brought up (kinda)

are you doin a funny, or talkin bout the vapeable iPhone case? cuz they do have one. Pretty ironic since I think folks said that apple won't let any vaping apps be made/posted whatever. Gee, I'm so technical.....NOT
