OMG I SOLOMLY SWEAR. I am buying NOTHING unnecessary for 9 months. A couple good mechs and more nic (curses, I could have 45 YEARS to go, I need WAY more nic ARGH) never have I desired so much to be OLDER. And coils. For a while. Etc.

THAT is IT. I am now buying NOTHING unnecessary at ALL EVERYTHING left at the end of the month not in savings is going into my debt. I plan to pay it off in ONE year, because I want a nice new home with generator and solar panels (manufactured home, but the husband and I plan to maybe.... Store some things in the mountain, if we can get the plot I want.)

I want no further part in society, man (I mean other than the fun part). But, I want PERMANENCE and safety.

It was the 9 MONTHS that did it. That's how long it takes to grow a baby and this is FAR worse! The baby needs you and that's rough. But here, YOU need the baby and that is the SUCK. Comparatively.

OH MY GOD.

I'm gonna ask the shinyitis thread to ban me if I buy anything else at all. You know, from the site. Sigh.

I'm all feral again my people are gone and like, I have to go to work tomorrow. OH MY GOD.

Are you pregnant (forgive me for not tracking - timing is bad right now).

You do understand that in nine months there may be very little left standing. Maybe not, but maybe. The future remains very much an unknown quantity right now.

It's not unreasonable to expect some fallout, possibly heavy, beginning anytime and running up to the deadline date. I hope this isn't the case, but it'd be tough to blame anyone for pulling out right now.

For God's sake NO I'm not pregnant. I just want enough nic until I die, and to be totally FRANK I have more hardware than I need and I am FAIRLY certain I can live without another dicodes mod for example some people don't have a single ONE and seem perfectly prepped.

I'm just not gonna buy for FUN anymore. Because the other thing I WANT and have been failing to stay on top of, is to get rid of my consolidated debt so I can buy another house SOON after we like, sell the old one.

We will make a profit, enough for land. But I want to move somewhere I can die in, and that means... MORE self discipline. As of now.

Because I am the one with the insane income currently, and the husband has good credit but little income.. They won't include me until I get rid of my debt.

I really don't think I will die if I don't have more gear. And even the cheap stuff adds up. I will die if I run out of nic, and I will be upset if we can't get our own house and NOT be at the mercy of a water main break and PLUMBERS *I* would have fired early on day two. I couldn't talk my landlord into it.

I hate renting. HATE.

Thanks for all the freezer links, guys (and gals).

I do not get angry easily, but i am really rather offended that the FDA wants me to die, like 2/3 of smokers who can't quit cigarettes, of their addiction. But slowly, so i have plenty of time to spend $14.29 per day on cigarettes. Because those are cigarettes, so selling them in gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, and drug stores is totally compatible with public health. Wrong? Well, let's not let facts get in the way of regulating people's access to nicotine-replacement therapy that's been shown to be more effective than any of the others combined. Because, you know, they aren't under the influence of the death-stick industry. And because Prohibition worked so well. (It did, for organized crime. Not so well for people who went blind or died from bootleg whatever being passed off as beverage alcohol.)

Funny, despite the evidence that vaping delays the onset of cigarette smoking in kids, they're all about "protecting the kids.' Nobody can protect kids from substance experimentation (or sexual, for that matter). They're biologically programmed to feel compelled to take risks; dopamine production plunges around pubescence precisely so teens won't be content to stay home and keep their parents happy, which is an evolutionary dead-end. Making it officially "so innately enticing that, to keep them from trying it, it has to be illegal even for adults using it to quit smoking" is the single best strategy I can think of for, say, convincing them it's really, uh, super innately enticing. Now the glamor of it being illegal is coming. Funny how in states that legalized weed in some form, teen use dropped. No thrills--it's just a commodity. That is precisely why it was found that being exposed to DARE actually increased kids' use of illegal drugs. "Now, your peers are going to pressure you to try this to seem cool because it's illicit, so you have to resist" is exactly like saying, "Trying this will make you seem more cool to your peers. But ignore what your peers think of you--they're just the people who will be your mates, spouses, work colleagues, friends, and virtually all of your social support network, without which primates are doomed." Also, how are they planning to get the kids who start smoking off the death-sticks? Oh, wait, they're not.

I signed the petitions. I donated. I think it's time for me to go full-on investigative public-health reporter on their asses. Carpal tunnel or not.

If I wanted pickle anything I would politely ask @mikepetro if I could buy some of his pickle flavored juice.

And, it would be the first time in history someone BOUGHT homemade pickle flavored juice.

I could go down in history!

All signs seem to be pointing to "get pregnant." Damnit.

No. I can't do a REAL baby and a vape baby at the same time. That is too much for ANY woman to take.

No one would blame me at the funeral. Well, they might. They would probably say, "We told her NOT to, but like, would she listen? NO. And now she is dead."

This is about the age my mom had her fourth child in part to "save" her marriage I think. LOL that did not work out so well and my little brother has severe deficits in functioning from the weight of all her codependency.

I also don't need to SAVE my marriage. ALSO today the husband and I (or was it yesterday) were discussing the fact that of ALL the folks who met in sobriety and got married in sobriety, WE were the ones at 15 years who had NOT divorced, and as far as we KNEW, we had gone the longest.

It is really really hard to be married to like, someone who is exactly like you but you also can hate at the same time, and you have to be a "double winner" and go to al-anon and AA like BOTH of you A LOT to even have a CHANCE of making it work.

Like, I was like, telling him I had no idea that he could be such a VILE liar, and that I finally gave up with his nervous breakdown, and decided that since I KNEW he had lied for a LONG time, I just decided to assume he had slept with 500 hookers without protection and that I had then OBSERVED he was no longer acting in that vile fashion, and just got tested and decided to forgive him for the 500 hookers. I also stated I did not need the truth either, be it better or worse. And he was like, "Cool. I forgive you for all the relapses."

LOL then we both had a moment of "I love you I hate you" and I was like, yeah, 15 years it's like the IMMOVABLE force met the unstoppable object.

Holy crap I don't even know how I got here setting myself up for hell tomorrow I better log off call that rat lying creep (he doesn't as much anymore and I know the warning signs now) and EAT.

Mainly, EAT.

Hey, Anna. Congrats on your 15+ however-impressively-many years. I have a little more than 1. Again. Sigh. (Was going to PM you re: that, but I guess I don't have enough privileges yet?)

Good news here is that after vaping with real intent for 3-4 days, I've cut my cigarette consumption in half. Had a bad moment last night where I couldn't fall asleep--I have ADD; stimulants make me sleepy--and REALLY wanted to go buy some cigs, as I let myself run out for the first time in months, and the only time on purpose in years. But in a flash of will to live and not die choking, grabbed one of my little AIOs and sucked on it like my life depended on it. Which it does. (I have a new favorite juice, a key lime pie flavor in salts; that helps.) It worked. Went back to bed, fell asleep, do not hate myself today and am not nauseated from my first cigs of the day because I don't have any.

I do still hate the FDA. If anything drives me to smoke, it's the agita they're causing.

So, we have 10 months to buy all the devices, coils, etc., we need for life? Plus some unknown amount of nic to DIY liquids w/ food-grade flavorings, for life? This is the current reality?? (Edited to add: Oh, wait, I missed Rossum's post about his new Doomsday Clock thread. Heading over there as soon as I can brace myself.)

If I quit smoking, I may live another 30 years. Maybe it's time to lower the requirements a little to access the trading post/marketplace? I'm happy to buy used devices/home-made pickle-flavored juice (ok, maybe not the pickle; all apologies to @mikepetro, but I'm post-fertile). And on a monthly income of $700/mo., I can't afford shiny--scratched-up, not the latest or greatest, but working is the way I'll have to go. I could live another 30 years if I get totally off the cigs, which seems to be where I'm trending, knock on wood. I very much doubt my 3 Joyetech EGO AIOs, one Smoant 8 pod, and Coolfire IV set-up will last 30 years. Need some steeply discounted gear and, apparently, a small freezer. And a whole bunch of nic. And some more WTA, at $30 for 30 mils or whatever I paid Aroma. Aigo. As my mother would say.

You don't have to have a bunch of money to buy decent shiny, new gear. There are all kinds of it, from old school to more modern in a very affordable price range. Bargain hunting for the deals will result in some surprising finds. Clearance sections on vaping vendor websites are a gold mine of goodies many times. I posted about some deals on mods in the Low Budget Shinyitis thread just yesterday....all less than $11.00! Just don't pick the Smok one at the place I linked to. ;)

Boy, Smok is not loved here. Bad gear, or bad experience w/ a vendor?

For the most part, IMO, it seems it's because of poor quality (ie. cheap materials, not reliable as far as longevity, etc.), lack of good customer service and/or honoring any warranties, etc....at least as far as their mods go. Some say their tanks are made of better quality materials and seem to have fewer problems though.

There is a saying someone posts regularly (can't remember who now), joking about their possible company policy: Paraphrasing here... You buy cheap SMOK product. Product break. You buy another cheap SMOK product.
